Body in Burning Van Now Identified as Van Owner Who Had Been Having Mental Health Issues

Press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department:

mcso Mendocino County Sheriff's Office MCSOOn November 28th a forensic odontologist was able to make a positive identification of the decedent in this case. The decedent was identified as the registered owner of the vehicle, 58 year old Edward [Pinckney], of Eureka CA. Family members, of the decedent, related that Edward had been exhibiting what was described as signs of mental health problems in the last few weeks of his life.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Detectives re-interviewed an original witness. It was previously thought that a suspect was “seen fleeing from the scene” onto a private logging road. The Detectives since clarified with the witness that no one was seen running down a logging road and the man, who’s leg was on fire, was last seen behind the van where the witness lost sight of him. Investigators now believe this man was actually the decedent and that he re-entered the van prior to his death.

The decedent’s cause of death is still under investigation as there are forensics tests being completed, the results of which are not yet known. However, investigators now believe homicide is no longer a likely scenario in this case. Investigators do not believe the witness mislead investigators and has been cooperating fully in this investigation.

To the contrary, there are numerous examples of self-immolating Buddhist monks and a few others.

Remember that a person in the process of suicide has managed to override their nervous system’s self-preservation instinct. There has to be a serious malfunction in the central nervous system to allow that to happen.

A self preservation mode takes over in 99.9% of most individuals. Know matter what the mental state.

I’m reading this book where the cops find a dead guy in bed with a plastic bag over his head. At first it’s ruled a suicide till the Docs explain that’s impossible. Your brain will fight for every last breath, baring drugs. Just saying.

“According to figures from the Cook County medical examiner’s office, 172 people committed suicide by suffocation from January 2007 to date. Of those deaths from asphyxia, 15 involved the use of a plastic bag over the head.”

Illinois for all intents and purposes isn’t a part of the union – that’s where the BAR BARs stem from. Unconstitutional and therefore, not in the republic.

The colonists searched the ships high and low for these scumbags. When they found the stowaways, they corralled them – but alas, they spread across America like a plague.

Some of Big Pharma’s pills have a label on the prescription container that says – May cause suicidal thoughts (paraphrase). Happens a lot. When a suicide occurs, the first responders come in and scour the premises from room to room removing all man-made DRUGS drugging our society.

Huh?

Fake news. First responders do not tamper with, or remove evidence, when responding to a suicide.

In VietNam it was common at times for Buddhist Monks igniting themselves as a protest against the war!!! It happened befor I’m certain it could happen again!!! I hope this individual has finally found the peace in Death he coudn’t find in Life!!!!!!

suicide by fire over a protest is one thing.

suicide by fire over depression – NOT.

This perspective doesn’t fit the “Legal” model and therefore, may be hindered in posting to public.

So far the whole thing seems so odd. Hopefully the autopsy will resolve the most important questions at least.

Reading this makes me feel sick. I can’t imagine killing ones self, let alone doing it in the post painful and horrific way possible. I hope whatever happened to this man was not as awful as it sounds.

Look up “Autoerotic asphyxiation”. Only peripherally related to this; however it`s clear that one can suffocate oneself to death intentionally.

These people (males, exclusively) are known as “gaspers”.Big city cops have to deal with them from time to time.

If a gun were present (and obviously there was a handgun found beneath the van in the photo) why wouldn’t he have shot himself rather than set himself on fire as a means of suicide. Was there no ammunition?
