At approximately 8:30 p.m., a pickup clipped a car near the intersection of West Buhne and Summer in Eureka. Then the pickup struck a telephone pole and stuck there.

The dog of the driver fled the scene and the driver had to recover it.

No one was injured.

Traffic was impacted for some time as the vehicle was towed away.

Why do all the vehicles in that part of town look so Bleak even before a crash?? I’m talking 86 Astrovans, 80’s Chevy Cavaliers, cars that should have been junked years ago. Got an old 1980 Chevy Citation 4 door? Just tow it up to Eureka! They will incorporate a use for it!

Better off driving a junk car in Eureka for several reasons.

1) Less likely to be broken into

2) No need to worry about door dings and much safer when a stoned addict crashes into you.

3) Driving a junk car makes you less likely to be profiled as a indoor dope grower, because they all drive Toyota trucks

Hope this helps.

I taught my children well . . . Nancy Reagan was Never a part of the conversation.

Big Pharma Drugs, man-made petrol-chemical poison pills, were not in our home environment.

The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him or her to hold in higher esteem those who think alike, rather than those who think different.

They dont drive them, just have them parked out in front of their arcata homes to avoid extortion fees from energy consumption. They still drive their diesels.

Per one of the useless enclosures in this months Rothchild$, err PG&E slash Community Choice Aggregate slash Redwood Coast Energy AUthority’s dirty electric provider statement, they’re ”Offering New Rates For COMMERCIAL Electric Vehicle Charging.” (Offering new rates – gotta love it!).

Departing Load customers (idk), do not receive electric generation transmission or distribution ServiceS from Rothchild$. They pay ‘certain’ charges as required by ”law” or, (drum roll) CPUC decision.

Friday in Santa Rosa, at the Vet’s Building (really), there was a big pow wow. Santa Rosa’s ”generated” electricity (Not), rates are going up to pay for the fires.

“Better off driving a junk car” because they are “much safer when a stoned addict crashes into you”?

I’d say we’re better off not reading comments like this.

the truth is that the average bum onthe street with no bills while they might not have a home or know where their next meal is coming from if they have more than 10 us dollars they happen to be in the top 25 percent of wealth in the world. so please stop with this line of thinking. most of those with fancey homes and cars dont own them, no they are nothing less than shiney chains of slavery to mega corps. the dollar is nothing less than a tool to enslave and keep folks inline.

I’m not getting how people think this truck was a “junk” vehicle.
The old 80s ford diesels are great trucks, built like tanks. I understand it’s urban humboldt, and people aren’t used to old school tools, but where I live, people love the old firewood trucks

There are also people who can’t afford new vehicles or those that don’t want a car payment.

Or just aren’t impressed with conspicuous consumption. An old car is like an old friend- you know just what it will and what it won’t do.

People drive too fast for their ability around here.

A Little courtesy would decrease a lot of unnecessary car crashes.

They may consider adding more lighting as well.
