It would help if EPD enforced traffic laws throughout Eureka as zealously as they were in the Safety Corridor last month.

I work swing shift. I got followed from 299/101 to within a block from my home the Saturday after Thanksgiving by some off-duty LEO who kept his buddy at EPD caught up on my position so he could pull me over in my driveway at 3am for “failure to maintain a lane.” Officer Obie didn’t ask for reg or proof of insurance, just my CDL, which he called in to confirm I’m a boring middle-aged lady with not even a parking ticket in the last 15 years. I feel so served and protected now.

Did he actually give you a ticket?

For driving safely, signalling every turn and lane change, not speeding, with the direct visual/verbal confirmation of the LEO following this single woman over the course of ~10 miles from the 299/101 interchange to within a block of her home? Oddly, no.

People drive too fast and too close to other cars around here.
