You go out Hookton to the end – keep going – and going. It’s soulful.

the wave is on the northside. you can sit on the dune for safe viewing. this wave is created by a shoal that is about 15 feet deep.

I’m confused by the angle. Was the photographer on the beach (or maybe a bluff)? I don’t think that she could have been standing on the south jetty although I haven’t been on the south side in more than twenty years.

Sitting in truck on the South jetty using a Nikon COOLPIX L820 camera with 30xZoom I can take a awesome shot 8 miles away with the right lighting conditions

I was on the South jetty, only place to get the perfect shot of these swells as they crash on the North side

This is a photo of Jake, an acquaintance from surfing around here. I took a screen shot of this photo and sent it to him, however, I’m sure he’d be stoked to see maybe a sequence of this wave. Can we view your photos from that day elsewhere?
Thanks

Hi Laurie,
Your photo of this spot is both amazing and rare. I am self-publishing a book about surfing and would love to use that last photo with your permission. I can’t pay at this time, but I could send you a free copy of the book when finished.
