[UPDATE 12:08 p.m.] Snowplows on 3, 36 and 299 Today; Chains Required on 36
Caltrans’ Quickmap, chains are required on Hwy 36 from three miles east of Mad River to five miles west of Forest Glen. “Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel/ all wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels,” Quickmap says.
This morning, snowplows are working Hwy 3, Hwy 36 and Hwy 299. According to the Snowplows are also patrolling Hwy 3 and parts of 299 east of Weaverville in and the Oregon Mountain area.
UPDATE 12:08 p.m.: There are no more chains required on 36 at this time.

Buckhorn Mountain is east of Weaverville Oregon Mountain is west of Weaverville been driving that road for over 40 years people never learn you have to slow down unless you know the road very well
