Man Claiming to Have Been Robbed Found With ‘Additional Stolen Property’–Nearly Worth $10,500, Say Deputies That Arrested Him

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

December 1, 2018, at about 10:45 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received three 911 calls from an unknown individual. Upon being contacted a fourth time, an unknown female notified dispatch of an emergency but immediately disconnected.

Deputies were able to contact the female and she advised them of her location in the 2300 block of McKinleyville Ave in McKinleyville, CA. Upon deputy arrival, another male indicated he was the victim of a robbery which had just occurred. The victim stated two individuals, one male & one female, had entered his residence and forced him to the ground. The victim stated the male stood over him while the female stole numerous items from his residence. While investigating further, deputies located additional stolen property which matched the description from previously reported burglaries. Deputies ultimately located sixty-nine items of stolen property from two previous theft cases reported to the HCSO. A few of the recovered items included numerous tools, a washer and dryer and two new toilets. The value of all recovered items was estimated to be nearly $10,500.

Based on the investigation, Miguel Enrique Amador, was taken into custody and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility with a fresh charge of PC 496(a) – possession of stolen property. Amador’s bail was set at $25,000.

This investigation is still ongoing and the suspects of the robbery are currently outstanding.

some tweaker that cleans out your entire garage. it looks like the guy that got robbed works construction, notice the bats in the charger. as our economy goes down this goes up. I have my garage alarmed and connected to call the central station. two different tweakers have tried and failed.

Really?

Someone stole his stolen loot. How stupid do you have to be to report such a crime? Wow! You can’t make this shit up. Once he gets to the station he will likely want to get on record that his extensive collection of child porn is among the stolen items. What a dumbass.

It’s a smart and good move actually. They find out who stole their stuff, force their way in and take it back. On the way out she calls 911 from his phone and they show up to arrest him. Non-violent, got their stuff back and put away the thief. I respect this approach!

I don’t know about the non-violent part though. “Forced to the ground” doesn’t seem like a polite invitation. There is a sense of satisfaction about someone not standing passively while being victimized. Swatting for good instead of evil I suppose.

Good job to the two who took their stuff back. This should be an example to the rest of us. The way this went down got the cops into the guys house legally. Once in, the law enforcement could legally find the stolen items. Now the items can be returned to the rightful owners.
