The Humboldt County Animal Services Shelter continues to be over full. The Humboldt County Animal Services Shelter’s reducing adoption fees in it’s Home for the Holidays event continues to 11/30/18!

All dogs – including puppies – are adoptable for $80!

As always, dogs 7 and above adoptable for $35.

For cat lovers – adoption fees are $60 for all, but cats aged 7 and above remain at $35.

Also mark your calendars for the 14th Annual Shelter Open House on Saturday, December 8, 2018

Also note that starting in December, due to short staffing, the Shelter will not be open from 4 to 7 pm on Thursdays.  The Shelter is hopeful that extended hours on Thursday will resume in January of 2019.

The Shelter has identified upcoming December closures to include:  12/24 and 12/25.

There are several other dogs that need to be adopted that are listed on petharbor.com. If you’d like to check them out, follow this link: http://petharbor.com/

If you say it’s going to be in a well fenced yard The pound will turn you down. Am I the only one that doesn’t want a big dog in the house all the time They say over crowding is a problem but they insist They even looked at me like a dog hater because I told them it would be out all day.

All dogs adopted from the Shelter are neutered or spayed when they are adopted. The petharbor listing does not change the dog’s status until the dog is actually neutered or spayed. Sometimes there is a back log of dogs waiting to get neutered or spayed by the Shelter’s vet as there are only certain days the shelter vet will work on shelter dogs.

In that case, I would think they’d add a blurb stating that the funds go towards the neutering once the animal is paid for.

Poor little brownie. I would like a dog but my mom won’t let me have one she says they smell.
