Location: 2400 block of Mill Creek Road, Talmage CA

Time: 2:59 AM

Victim(s): Male Adult, 51 years of age, Talmage CA

Suspect(s): Marcus D’Angelo Davis, 37 years of age, Oakland CA

Written By: Sergeant Dustin Lorenzo

Synopsis: On 11/21/2018 at approximately 2:59 AM, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 2400 block of Mill Creek Road in Talmage, when a 51 year old Male adult returned home from work and located the windows to his residence broken and his front door ajar. Numerous household items had been removed from the residence and strewn about the yard. Naumann looked inside his residence and found the interior had been severely vandalized and an unknown subject was sleeping on his couch.

The home owner armed himself with a small caliber handgun, called 9-1-1 and began checking the interior of his residence. When he returned to his living room, he was ambushed by the assailant, who struck him in the head with a large book, knocking him to the floor. The assailant, later identified as Marcus D’Angelo Davis, 37 years old of Oakland (pictured above), grabbed Naumann and began to pull on him by his lower legs. The home owner fired several rounds from his handgun, striking Davis in the upper torso and arm. The homeowner then held Davis at gunpoint until Deputies arrived.

Deputies arrived minutes later and took Davis into custody without further incident. Davis was transported via ambulance to Ukiah Valley Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries, which were found to be non-life threatening. Davis was medically cleared and booked into the Mendocino County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and vandalism. Davis is being held in lieu of $30,000 dollars bail.

According to the home owner he did not know and had not seen Davis prior to this incident.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Tip-Line at (707) 234-2100.

Invite him to your house. Goldilocks didn’t attack the three bears. Is there no action someone on this site won’t attempt to excuse? Why don’t you go bail out this poor guy, take him home, and love him up? I’ll bet your bed is “just right”.

Yep I agree. Tired of seeing city degenerates coming up here to rob and assault hard working, otherwise peaceful citizens. If you set the deal up with said degenerates, kind of on you. For home invaders such as above, use the 2nd amendment to protect yourself and your family. In a utopia no one would ever get shot by anyone, but enough is enough. A message needs to be sent.

YEAH.. THEY’RE NOT MENTALLY CHALLENGED .. THEY JUST THINK THEY CAN TAKE ANYTHING FROM ANYONE WHEVER THEY WANT TO HAVE WHAT’S NOT THEIRS. OR THEY WILL JUST PHYSICALLY HARM YOU BC THEY FEEL LIKE IT. WHOMEVER THINKS THESE PEOPLE ARE MENTALLY CHALLENGED AS A CAUSE FOR THEIR CRIMES NEEDS TO SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Homeowner was very lucky. If this guy had been slightly more clear headed he could have taken that gun away after hitting the home owner with the book and killed him. Or the intruder could have had his own gun or knife instead of a book. Why not wait for the police?

Should not be eligible for bail.

also fyi: call the cops and wait for help BEFORE you decide to enter a structure that you think has been broken into. the homeowner saw the guy asleep and went to see what..? if dude took his drugs and money first before 5-0 shows up? cmon now..

Some people might choose that route, others might feel a more direct approach is better. I wouldn’t sit in my yard waiting for the police to show up.

What makes you (Miguel) ASSUME the perpetrator is “mentally challenged”..?

He’s a CRIMINAL, who broke in to a persons house, & assaulted the person…

The resident was right in shooting the perp when the perp continued to assault the resident…it can take a LONG time for the law dogs to show up, especially at 3am in the morning…you do what you need to do to preserve your life…

Landed a couple and still “non life threatening” ??
Obviously the caliber was too small……..
.380 minimum for home protection !!!!
There has been way to many of these robberies of late…….
Need to start dropping these invaders in the act,
then maybe the city slime will think twice about heading our way…..

Hi Kelley, you said at the top of this article:

“Happily, there is not much happening today locally”

Did RHBB get the information about how the Garberville Sanitary District (GSD) was investigated and found to be in violation of their state water diversion license and permit, for a second time, selling bulk water outside GSD’s permitted place of use?

I know its not a violate crime, like this report, but its a crime the public should know about, if not the GSD ratepayers. Its a crime against the South Fork Eel River!

This is why we need more gun control. Point blank range ( Maybe not point blank, but the end of your foot isn’t to far away)and the guy couldn’t hit center mass? Practice, practice!

Festus Metaphors

Safer than chitlins on a city folk’s supper plate.
Hotter than a jug full of red ants.
If that don’t put a clod in your shoe.
You couldn’t burst a bird’s egg with a ball-peen hammer.
This here [stew] will grow hair on your elbows.
[It’s] hot enough to fry a horseshoe.
Tighter than the feathers on a prairie chicken’s rump.
The onliest thing you get from stradlin’ the fence is a sore backside.

Fine as frogs hair.

If not, you may want to check on how the people in Venezuela are barely surviving. They were dis-armed three years ago.

Well that brings up the subject should we ban books? No hard covers which could be assault books. Paperback only. 7 day waiting period on buying a book? Book buyback program? And last but not least illegal to use a book in commission of a crime.

[…] This past Wednesday in Talmage, California, a 51-year-old man got home from work at 3:00 a.m. to find his front door ajar, his windows broken, and his property damaged. Various belongings had been taken outside and strewn around the yard. As he walked inside (for some reason), the homeowner found a complete stranger asleep on his living room couch. […]

IMO, the intruder, if caught by surprise, might have spontaneously taken a book to him to slow him so he could then run outside to safely hide. But, he didn’t. IMO, he laid in waiting for him, knocked him down, then proceeded to drag him.. just like a psycho in a tv series.
It’s a good thing he was armed and was able to defend himself!
This is some crazy stuff right here.

WHICH MENDO. COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE GRANTED THIS STUPID FN LOW BAIL???? I’M CERTAIN THE JUDGE WOULD HAVE ORDERED MORE IF THE MF HAD BROKEN IN TO HER OR HIS HOME!!!! I WAS INFORMED BY A RELIABLE SOURCE that the victim was robbed by his neighbor’s guest because the victim’s neighbor often has a lot of trashy low life people frequenting his property ….. and i heard the male victim who is employed full-time is so distraught from the trauma he went through having come home to a perpetrator inside his home with his animals and then physically attacking him during the robbery that he won’t go back in to and live in own home, and the family that owns another house on the same property may have sell their property and move because the victim is so traumatized. The victim’s family had to repair the broken windows and other damage to the manufactured home caused by the Oakland criminal Marcus D’Angelo Davis. This robbery caused a 52 or so year old male victim to suffer mentally and has posed an extreme hardship on the family. THIS IS A FACT! People wanna joke around and make funny comments on here and there’s NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT BEING ROBBED IN YOUR OWN HOME WHEN YOU GET OFF WORK AND COME HOME AND BEING PHYSICALLY ATTACKED BY SOME HOME INVADER. IT’S FRIGHTENING AND THE VICTIM COULD HAVE DIED.
Real nice when your neighbor has a bunch of bay area thugs frequenting their property with nothing better to do than rob the neighborhood!
