Drumroll…….. (Cymble crash).
At least she’s alive.
I live near there, and it’s reckless driving, speeding, cell phone use galore, and never, in years, have I seen law enforcement do anything. Its pretty wild west, so be careful if you are on a bike, skating or walking, because no one else is.
yet all the cars flip over in towns like Eureka. I have lived extremely close to there and the only thing reckless is the dip in the road on stewart and strombeck behind the market. why hasn’t that been fixed? its not like we get flash floods, what the hell is it for?
Actually, we do get flash floods there. Just last year the gutters not only filled up, but the water was almost up to the houses it was so deep. That rain only lasted about 20 minutes.
Obviously you weren’t here Dec. 18th thru Jan. 7, 1964.
no but I have looked at the aerial photos of the entire development before the market was built.
others detail the major drainage issues which you can view yourself, but this one details the air qualities at the time

Coming home this afternoon I see 2 kids at the cross walk. I slow down and stop for them. The kids started walking and the blond female jackass in her black Escalade that was in my lane behind me, just had to speed around me- thankfully the kids were walking slow.
So do you get it yet? Do no stop for pedestrians in a cross walk, I know it’s the law in California, however, this is NOT Oregon. Stopping for pedestrians in California is just not done on a regular basis in California.
Jackass in an Escalade. Isn’t that redundant?
🙂
Well said! Probably on her cell phone even though Cad most likely has hands free capability.
Dede,
thanks more drivers should be as careful.
Death Race 2018!
These roads should be driven slowly and carefully unless the driver is very familiar with the area and has been driving here for at least 10 years; there are twists, turns, chinks,
fog, ice and rain that can come out of nowhere.
Inexperienced drivers that aren’t extremely familiar with the area need to slow down.
SLOW THE FUCK DOWN
In case anybody does not know Arcata streets are 25 MPH speed limits unless otherwise posted.
