[UPDATE 1:37 p.m.: Road Open!] Traffic Accident on Briceland Road; Power Pole Blocking Road

A blue vehicle struck a power pole roughly near the intersection of Briceland Thorn Road and Ettersburg Road around Huckleberry Hill about 11:16 a.m., according to the scanner and the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

The power pole is now blocking traffic and about 121 people are without electricity.

UPDATE 11:56 a.m.: According to the CHP page, no one was injured.

UPDATE 12:49 p.m.: According to Cheryl Antony, spokesperson for Shelter Cove Fire, the road will be closed for several hours.

Antony who was at the scene had difficulty calling out for assistance. “It brings to mind the need for call boxes on Briceland and Shelter Coves Roads,” she said.

According to some of the other commenters this is PG&E’s fault. Hope the person/people in the truck are alright.

The road is open to one-way traffic as of about 20 minutes ago.
