(VIDEO) Correctional Deputy/SWAP Farm Manager Sees Color for the First Time: ‘It’s a Different World’

From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

“It’s a different world”
Today Correctional Deputy and Sheriff’s SWAP Farm Manager Jeff Dishmon saw color for the first time. Correctional Deputy Samantha Freese and Dishmon have worked together for eight years at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Over the years the two have grown close, nicknaming each other “Grandpa” and “Granddaughter”. Dishmon has been color blind his whole life, which has sometimes been a source of frustration for him and others around him. Freese and other correctional deputies pitched in to purchase #enchroma glasses for Dishmon and presented them to him today at the Sheriff’s SWAP Farm. The results were incredible. #trynottocry

If you only knew Dishmon… he’s one of the coolest down to earth people you will ever meet. He’s one person who will enjoy and apreiciate those glasses for the rest of his life. Enjoy sir. You so deserve them.

FYI these glasses dont let you see colors you cant it just shift and enhances. and does not work with all color blindness. https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2018-10/uog-dte102618.php

Yup, pretty much a scam. If you take a colorblind test with and without these glasses your score will remain virtually unchanged

Yet people’s reactions are universally emotional. This is not a commercial scam. It means something.

Thanks for the reminder of our humanity, demonstrating love and kindness and sharing a joyful moment.
It’s becoming more and more difficult to see moments like this for what little gifts they are in all the bleakness of the world right now.
