Don’t Worry If You See Smoke in Eureka; Training Taking Place

Don’t worry if you see smoke in Eureka. Humboldt Bay Fire Battalion Chief Kent Hulbert reports that the smoke seen from western Eureka is a training taking place. “We have three new [firefighters] and some active volunteers learning,” he said.

The current plan is to practice today and tomorrow from mid-morning til mid-afternoon. “We’re monitoring it today and tomorrow,” he explained. “If the winds cooperate, we’ll keep going. If it starts impacting people, then we will stop.”

It’s that big already? I quess if it’s still windy conditions they may have a slight battle ahead. Prayers to the Firefighters.

hey kym that fire has smoke all the way into napa county lake county near middletown is effecting folks pretty harshly
