Red flag warning

The National Weather Service out of Eureka warns that dangerous conditions conducive to “fast-spreading wildfires” will begin tonight in southeastern Humboldt, southern Trinity, northeastern Mendocino Counties. They predict,

Gusty winds out of the east-northeast will develop across ridgetops in northwest California Wednesday night through Thursday evening. These winds combined with low RH and dry vegetation will increase the threat for fast spreading wildfires…particularly across grassy areas.

A red flag warning is Cal Fire’s most serious caution. A Cal Fire webpage notes, “During these times extreme caution is urged by all residents, because a simple spark can cause a major wildfire.”

The page goes on to state, “During heightened fire danger, CAL FIRE will place additional firefighters on duty, staff more fire engines and keep more equipment on 24 hours a day to be able to respond to any new fires.”

By 2030 we’ll all suffocate from the methane in the atmosphere. Enjoy the next few years.

Warning? Fact. Luckily those frozen tomatoes and peppers still made fantastic salsa within 24hrs, 24 pints at least
