If you have any information, please contact Eureka Police at (707) 441-4060.
UPDATE Wednesday: Vaughan tells us, the car was recovered at 3:30 this morning not far from her home after what she characterized as a “high speed pursuit by [the] sheriff.” She said, There was no apparent damage. “They bailed ditching the car at 242 14th Street.”

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
Or to paraphrase George W Bush, you shouldn’t let them steal the car again.
Damn…that was some pretty strong victim blaming. Who would even think someone would turn around and resteal it before you had a chance to get any other security in place. What do you want her to do, stay in it 24-7?
Buy a steering wheel club? A wheel lock? Pull the ignition fuse? Park elsewhere? Block it in? If it was stolen once through unknown means then it would be prudent to take steps to protect the property so it doesn’t happen again.
Sell it and move from Clark and C st
I just couldn’t help myself because he mangled it so badly, but here is Bush’s actual quote.
“There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again”
Samantha, have you considered putting in a kill switch for the fuel pump? Car can’t run without fuel. They are really simple to install and can easily be hidden.
I’m not suspicious by nature, yet somehow this story has a “victim and thief with a history” feel to it.
Both you and HOJ have good points.
No matter what’s going on, it is a very big irritation to have a car stolen even once , much less twice.
With technology now and days people can use your signal from your key fab and extend the signal with a tablet from.your house to your car and if it’s a push start they can turn your car on just like as if the key was inside the console. I’ve seen and read if you put your keys in like tin foil at night or another signal blocking device it makes it way harder for them to access the signal.
that still doesnt unlock doors and yes it can happen, however those with those skills which require a certain higher degree of ladder programing as well as signal isolation would hardly be ripping 6 year old chevys. with those skill sets they would be making thousands a week. it is most likely that they either used a bump key with a generic transponder which you can buy on e bay or bypasted transponder reciver and jumped the contacts on the steering column.
It’s like I said to her original post on FB…talk to the key-maker who told her he only made one key. hmm…not rocket science.
My bad I said same bing and didn’t read this earlier lol
And bro they do make hella money stealing these cars , I live in la as well and they are stealing high end Bentley’s and Benz all the time . It’s 2018 technology is crazy and can be accessed by more than we believe it to be . Most likely it was gonna be stolen and pack with some paper from the heroin sales in eureka and sent back down to Mexico lol
Yep, it’s the same way with the new credit cards that have the RFID chip.
hrmm i wonder if it was paid for or if someone was repoing it.
Its a Chevy Camaro. Do yourself a favor and let them steal it for good next time.
Pretty sure it’s dope smoking trolls that read RHBB, why else would it be twice in one day?
These type of trolls will stop at nothing for comments and posts on Kym’s site.
Very sad and I hope these trolls are arrested and banned.
They keep stealing it cause she has a key hat acts as a computer for the car , example… remote start and lock and unlock , all newer gm vehicles mostly come with remote start . So thieves now have the ability to walk close to you with a electric reader and copy your keys info/brain , trip your car into thinking it’s the original key and off they go…..
Only way to prevent this for anyone is wrapping their remote key fob with tin foil paper….
Gold foil works better.
