Traffic Accident Reportedly Shut Down Westbound 255 in Arcata

A little before 8 a.m. two vehicles collided on Hwy 255 near V Street, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.  A reader who sent us the above photo tells us that 255 is shut down.

According to the incident page, the vehicles involved are a white Toyota Rav4 and a white Nissan sedan.

One of my least favorite intersections due to poorly design. It’s just gets a low enough level of traffic that the problems it creates don’t cause accidents most of the time.

People just need to slow down, the roads around here weren’t meant to be driven fast,
and there’s no money to change that.

They should put up road signs “reduce speed, theses roads weren’t meant to be driven fast and there’s no money to change that.”

Lowering speed saves lives.

it might save lives but it costs more to drive slow. step back and allow darwin to do his job. no these roads arent built for a shit box honda ro drive fast on but nice german enginering and well it makes up for the shitty roads.
