Sheriff’s Office Investigates Yesterday’s Explosion in McKinleyville

Exploded hash lab Information from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit is continuing its investigation into a butane hash oil lab explosion occurring on the 1200 block of E. Bates Road in McKinleyville on Oct. 21, 2018.

The property did not possess the required county permit and state license to manufacture butane hash oil. While on scene, deputies recovered approximately 52 pounds of cannabis bud and seized one firearm, which did not have a serial number.

Deputies have identified multiple persons of interest associated with this butane hash oil lab. One male subject contacted on scene sustained severe burns. He was transferred to an out of area hospital in critical, but stable, condition.

This case is still under investigation. Criminal charges, including manufacturing a controlled substance by means of chemical synthesis (HS11379.6(a)), are expected to be filed. The identification of all persons involved will not be released until formal charges are filed. No arrests have been made at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.greenhouse marijuana Pounds of marijuana in tote

Definitely sounds like a crime to me. marijuana, illegal firearms, explosions. while in a school zone. The cannabis tag won’t clean this up.

Its all good clean fun until you blow your ass up and scatter weed all over the lab, then its fucking hilarious! No serial number on the gun, a felony punishable with 5 to 10 years in the clink.

Bull shit! American citizen is allowed one firearm with no serial number. Hence why we can buy every part for an American Rifle from several manufactures and nobody will know anything.

Double Bullshit. A firearm must have a serial number. You don’t get a freebee. On an AR the lower receiver carries the number. If you do an 80 percenter, you must register it with the DOJ as soon as it is completed and stamp it with a number. You can buy all the other parts without restriction, but you will not find a lower for sale without a background check, unless you buy yourself a felony somewhere in a back alley. All firearms must have a serial number to be legal. All. It’s shit like Mr. Glocks’ comment that perpetuates the loophole myths the anti gun gestapo loves to quote.

If you complete an 80% lower yourself and then buy all the needed parts to complete your gun build you DO NOT have to register it or get a serial number put on it. It is only recommended to do so in case it is stolen or lost. Once the gun is built it can not leave your possession or ever be sold. So YES, you can own a unregistered firearm WITHOUT a serial number…. as long as it still meets state legalization standards.

wrong not the DOJ infact it is illegal for the DOJ to issue numbers or even tokeep a list of firearm owners. You may however contact the ATF and recive a number and you are also allowed under the law without any linence construct no more than one orginal firearm per year that is not a commerical production type of firearm. On the other hand you may without any paperwork build as many air powered firearms and are never required to registiar them. Infact air powered weapons are even ownable by felons. modern air powered weapons are quite advanced and many out preform traditional firearms both in rate of fire as well as stopping power. i fully expect california in all its backwardness to start requiring background checks and waiting periods on all air compressors soon enough.

Guns are fun, however gun worship and general paranoia that one must have a gun at all times is simply idiotic. Turn off FOX and go outside.

It is not chemical synthesis. It is an extract. Chemical synthesis is P2P meth.

The law is quite comprehensive and covers both extraction and synthesizing.

1 California Health and Safety Code 11379.6 HS – Manufacturing narcotics. (“(a) Except as otherwise provided by law, every person who manufactures, compounds, converts, produces, derives, processes, or prepares, either directly or indirectly by chemical extraction or independently by means of chemical synthesis, any controlled substance specified in Section 11054, 11055, 11056, 11057, or 11058 shall be punished by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170 of the Penal Code for three, five, or seven years and by a fine not exceeding fifty thousand dollars ($50,000).

You can own a firearm without a serial #. You can own a thousand firearms without serial #s. You must have MANUFACTURED the #less firearm. You cannot sell, lend, or transfer in any manner a #less firearm.
Obliterating, disguising, or altering a # on a firearm is 10 years in federal prison, first offense, period. Get your facts straight before posing, or posting, please…

18 USC 922(k), (o) & (v); 26 USC 5861. Punishable by up to 5 or 10 years imprisonment, depending on specific violation.

G. Any firearm which lacks a serial number or contains altered or obliterated serial number.

You may want to bone up on A,B,C,D,E and F too. Those with retention difficulties might want to write it down.

big bang is right to extent that the weapon cant be sold and no it doesnt need a number unless transfered.thats federal, however i am pretty sure states can add to that until they are sued and the scous decised to hear the case and rules.thata the wonderful thing about living in America not all laws are legal and not all laws are enforced evenly making it a complete pay to play system. cant pay the fine better not do the crime, unless you have the loot to pay off someone or hire a really good lawyer who can get you off of anything.

That burnt suspect in in a ‘world of hurt’. After the expected looooong recovery from his severe burns, he will face numerous court proceedings and prison. Yeah. He kinda ‘made his bed that he now has to sleep in’. Still, hate to be him this week!

Posting pictures of the injured people may help stop the butane madness.

Stoner Joe might think twice if he sees pictures of people looking as if they were nailed by a flamethrower.

More proof that laws only work for the people who abide them. They do nothing to stop people who don’t give a dung. How about making the consequence to the action more harsh! Maybe then, these kinds of lawless actions may stop.
