[UPDATE 6:44 p.m.] Wildfire Near Scotia/Rio Dell
Flames are spreading from a three to five-acre fire on the bluff above the
Scotia the old Eel River Sawmill as of about 2:45 p.m., according to scanner traffic. Powerlines are down and additional crews are requested. Air support has also been requested.

UPDATE 2:56 p.m.: The fire is now reported to be a half acre with a slow rate of spread, according to the scanner.
UPDATE 3 p.m.: Copter 102 is responding to the incident, according to the scanner and to Flight Tracker.
UPDATE 3:05 p.m.: According to PG&E’s outage website, about 2500 customers are without power from Hydesville to Honeydew in what appears to be a connected incident. The site reports that power went out about 2:31 p.m. Power is not expected to resume until 6 p.m., according to the customary four hour estimate PG&E gives initially.

UPDATE 6:20 p.m.: PG&E is reporting that all but 91 customers have had their power restored.
