You’re Invited to the ‘Audubon Birdwalk’ at Southern Humboldt Community Park on October 20th

This is a press release from the Redwood Region Audubon Society:

Saturday, October 20th at 9 a.m.The Redwood Region Audubon Society is having a birdwalk at the Southern Humboldt Community Park.The leader of the walk will be David Fix, the author of “Birds of Northern California.” Take Sprowl Creek Road for 1 mile to Tooby Park (on the right side of the road) This is a fun walk!  We usually have coffee and an extra binoculars.

Humboldt Bay Wildlife Refuge.
I’m not sure what kind of bird this but it looked interesting.

Looks like a Great Blue Heron, from what I can see. I think there is also a Small Blue Heron as well.

When I was little we used to see in the trees on the islands in Humboldt Bay covered with the Great Egrets, I think they are called. My grandmother always called them Snowy Egrets because they were white. I loved that.
