I wish there were more info. Did he mistake the officers for intruders? Did he realize they were officers after he fired a warning shot (missed shot) and then surrender his weapon and comply? Did he drop his weapon after the officers responded with theirs? I don’t understand what happened here.

You must not know Hoopa very well.. fed agencies (or any agencies) aren’t welcome there and guns are a way of life. I was there for New Years party one year. Man, when the clock struck midnite it was like a war zone.

Huh they found no drugs or anything though huh. So guy sees men just stationary outside his house might have been threatened but doesn’t matter in CA can’t defend yourself unless someone forcefully enters at the very least. Lil trigger happy I guess.

Might not be the circumstances of this particular incident, but I always get a kick when cops execute a no-knock warrant in plain clothes and then are surprised when the residents of the house that they’re invading defend themselves.

Knocking on the door is an “invasion?”

…..and then claim that they identified themselves when one gets popped in the skull for breaking down a door.

meanwhile the whole purpose of a no-knock warrant is to maintain the element of surprise so that the evidence doesn’t get flushed down the head. cops wank to pics of confiscated 8 balls on facebook.

It wasn’t a no knock in this case. Cause they didn’t have a warrant to begin with. They had to secure one after the fact. It sounds like they didn’t identify themselves at all, and came onto his property to investigate which is not legal at all.

I had fish and game do this recently, and tore their supervisor a new one over it. No warrant, never identified themselves, never tried. Just came onto my property and cut fences for access. Super not legal at all.

Good thing you didn’t open fire on the trespassers. Po-po could always claim they heard a baby crying, had to do a welfare check.

tj fish and game only need a “reason” to come on your property. this is why they are the “hired guns” of Humboldt county sheriffs. no warrent,no probable cause. well…… we think you are using water to grow weed with…….and therefore are endangering salmon fry.

Actually fishing and game can do that. They’re the only agency in the country that does not need a warrant to trespass on your land. which is a bunch of horseshit. That’s why they’re using fish and game right now to circumvent the 4th amendment for all these pot bust.

Really?

That’s damn near made me spit my coffee through my nose. However from the picture and the age of the suspect, he’s pretty well kept to be a tweaker.

So no drugs found.
No other crime except shooting on the direction of armed men in the dark.

I thought they didn’t serve these warrants at night.
Remember Malibu when they murdered a millionaire in middle if night because he had s gUn on his own property .
They never found drugs in that case either
