According to traffic on the scanner, around that time a Rio Dell Police officer began searching for a stabbing victim in the 200 to 300 blocks of Wildwood Avenue. [The person was later determined not to have been stabbed.]

The victim had fled bleeding profusely, according to the officer speaking over the radio.

“Subject possibly bleeding out,” the officer said. “I need help.”

He also said that a suspect in the stabbing was detained and the suspect had a small cut on his hand.

The officer eventually noted that he was searching a yard in the 300 block of Wildwood. “There’s a lot of blood here,” he said.

But as of 10:56 p.m., the several law enforcement officers were searching a couple of blocks from there.

Note: At different times the officer referred to the person being sought as a victim and later as a suspect.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.
