Critical Fire Weather; Community Asked to Be Extra Careful

Because of the low humidity and strong winds predicted for tonight in “most areas in northwest California above 2000 feet…and a few scattered interior valleys”, a red flag warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Eureka.

A red flag warning means that conditions are ripe for wildfires to get started and grow quickly.

“Strong east winds and low humidity will support the potential for rapid wildfire growth tonight through Monday morning in areas where wildfire fuels are receptive,” the NWS posted on Facebook. “Outdoor burning is not recommended.”

THC, I was thinking the same thing. I’ll never forget the BLM “controlled burn” near Lewiston that destroyed some homes.

Claudia, if you are using voice to text you need to say “period” “comma” etc. to avoid run-on sentences. Unless, of course, you are just testing our brains. 😉

I read Claudia’s comment as if the punctuation was there. I didn’t notice it was missing till you pointed it out

I’m sure he probably doesn’t want to be released. I would imagine his Daddy’s going to put a whooping on him.
