Nonstop Flights to Denver From Humboldt Will Start Next June
Press release from the Redwood Region Economic Development Commission:
United Airlines, the Redwood Region Economic Development Commission, and the County of Humboldt announced today that United will begin nonstop service from Humboldt County (ACV) to Denver International Airport (DEN) starting June 7, 2019. Tickets will be available for purchase starting Saturday, October 13, 2018.United will provide the service with a 50-seat regional jet and will start with one flight per day as follows:Depart ACV 6:30a.m.Arrive DEN 10:00a.m.Depart DEN 7:00p.m.Arrive ACV 8:50p.m.“A nonstop flight to Denver International is a great addition to our air service options,” said Cody Roggatz, Director of the Humboldt County Department of Aviation. “We know that service to an eastern hub is a popular concept with the flying public and Denver service will become a real asset to the citizens and businesses throughout Humboldt County.”Humboldt County had service to Salt Lake City from 2008 to 2009 provided by a different carrier.“I want to thank United Airlines for their confidence and investment in our community,” said Supervisor Ryan Sundberg, Chair of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors. “I know that that direct service to Denver International Airport will create new opportunities to increase business and tourist travel.”Recruiting and retaining air service has been a top focus of the Redwood Region Economic Development Commission (RREDC) since 2003. It was that year that RREDC joined with the City of Redding and the County of Humboldt to secure a direct flight to LAX. In 2011, RREDC joined with community members, businesses, and organizations to create “Fly Humboldt,” a collaborative effort to increase air service and support our local airport. Since that time, it has been actively working to add more flights to more destinations.“I want to thank United Airlines for adding Denver to their local service. This will make connecting to the mid-west, east coast and beyond even easier,” said Gregg Foster, Executive Director of RREDC. “I’m also very grateful to the local community, which has consistently shown that we want and will support air service. We’re fortunate to have the support of our community and United Airlines.”

Good news!
How much an extra 300 bucks still?
That’s awesome, perfect for me that’s where I go usually
Also a great hub airport and it’s so high up landing is faster!
Heck, you could even just fly to DIA, walk around, and come back. Cheaper than Disneyland, and just as entertaining.
The Delta flights to Salt Lake City didn’t work because the success of any air route depends on the right mix of origin and destination (O&D) traffic (that is, between Eureka and SLC) and connecting traffic. SLC was well placed for connections but not for local traffic between Eureka and SLC. Denver is a better choice, but still quite risky in terms of having sufficient O&D traffic. The ideal (and proven) new destination from Eureka is LAX, which does have the right mix of traffic necessary to make any new route successful.
Portland anyone?
That will save me 4hrs travel time, to go see my family… I will gladly pay more.
Denver is not a good airport to fly into, at least not from when I flew in there… But thats a pilots perspective….
If they’d lower their rates they’d get more traffic. I drive all the way to Santa Rosa then take the express bus to SF airport because it’s that much cheaper. So do most of the people I know. Maybe they have high rates because less traffic, but they also have much less traffic because of higher rates.
So cool.. for this ski bum
By by sunberg go be a errands boy for your uncle now you corrupt extortionast slimeball.maybe in your next life you won’t throw a bunch of kids out in the rain out of there bus stop for Your families greed, while you destroy hundreds of families lives with your elite corrupt politicians good ole boy grow club you pile. Now we need rex bone and extortion Estelle to go by by. Vote no on measure o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still illegal to transport your product via a federally controlled carrier. Or did the law change?
You can travel with your personal stash. 😉
Now we need a car rental company open for every arriving flight! Not so now nights and weekends…this causes my visiting family a lot of problems. Shouldn’t the car rental companies be required to be open as part of their contract? A key drop off for when they are not open for departing flights would be nice too.
