Kelly Lincoln had a pretty thorough article in the local paper about the recent Mateel old growth/saplings meeting. I lol’d when I read Carol and John were there, representing. Please. Like inviting the foxes into the henhouse to “help.”

If the caretaker works twenty hours a week, they only make $1120 a month before deductions. If they paid the $850 a month in rent that only leaves $270 for bills and incidentals. Is the rent reduced for the person that takes the caretaker position?

some people will argue they could get a second job but for argument sake, even if the job was 40 hours a week that rent would still be more than a third of their income so it still isnt affordable

. For housing costs to be considered affordable, these total costs should not exceed 30 percent of household income, according to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

So approximately half of the salary would go for the rent on the unit…based on a 35-40 hr week, after taxes- but it’s a part time salary…….and yet all the free “hospitality” stuff at Reggae and other shows… It seems like free rent or maybe $420/ mo would make better sense. A person doing a good job would be a real gift& worth free/ reduced rent.

Sheesh!!

No one pays a California wage in Humboldt county.
The only way to make money in hum co. is to grow weed, or work in the industry.

I pay 18 to start and so do a lot of other employers. Wonder why Justin Crellin has not been charged?
