Miranda 4-H Wins Top County Club
Recently the 4-H County Awards Ceremony took place and Miranda 4-H Club received Top 4-H Club countywide for the second year in a row. The club is very honored to receive this award and looks forward to continuing their growth.
During the awards ceremony, Malachi Church, a member of Miranda 4-H Club, was also accepted as a 4-H County Ambassador. This is the highest honor given in 4-H at the county level. The relatively new Miranda 4-H Club now has two 4-H County Ambassadors. The other is Jonathan Archibold who was accepted last year.
Miranda 4-H Club is only one 4-H Club in the Southern Humboldt Unified School District. The Club is open to kids from 5 to 18 years old.
The projects the club is offering this year are Art (Drawing/Painting), Blacksmithing, Cooking, Crafts, Horses, Hunter Safety, Lego Engineering, Outdoor Adventure, Poultry, Rabbits, Swine, and Woodworking. Members choose which projects they are interested in and only take the one(s) that they want. They also attend a monthly community meeting with the entire club where there are often games, crafts and always a potluck dinner provided in part by the 4-H Cooking project.
If anyone is looking to join Miranda 4-H Club and participate in any of the projects, then come to the community meeting on October 2 at 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Hall in Miranda. Enrollment is $55 for a member. But for a limited time, new members are only $5. So come, make friends, and join in the fun.
If you have any further questions about the club please contact Shanna Archibold at (707) 498-7217.

A fun awards ceremony and thank you Malachi and Jonathan for the informative presentation on the local blacksmithing.
Congratulations Miranda 4H
Excellent job Malachi and all 4Her’s!!!
Congrats on another amazing year! What an amazing group of young people. Excited to see what you will do this year.
Thank you to all the parents and community members that help make this such a stupendous group.
A very special THANK YOU to Ms. Shanna Archibold, without you and your tremendous dedication to these youths and this group, I’m not sure this club would be as successful. Thank you for everything you do! 🍀🍀🍀🍀
Shanna is why my kid got involved in 4-H and she is large part of why he has been so successful. She is organized, knowledgeable, hard-working, passionate about the kids, and a no drama leader. Every organization should be so lucky to have a Shanna Archibold!
I love this story!
The family shot made me smile a real smile.
I’m in love with the way I see both of your faces in the faces of those beautiful young men you’ve built.
Tell The Old Man he looks alright too.
And I just smiled again.
Big hug to you!
Nice article Malachi. Thank you ladies for your kind words. I appreciate them, but I don’t run the club. The kids do. And last years officers did a good job! Thanks for all their hard work goes to:

Also, thank you to the Miranda 4-H assistant leader, Marty Hobbs & the project leaders. We couldn’t win top club with out all the hard work of Annika Hogan, Tory Shanzle, Eva Penkert, Justin Lehnert, Shane Embry, and of course Marty Hobbs!
