Rain!

Rain, which hadn’t been predicted until this afternoon, began falling a little after 10 a.m. along the Coast and then moving inland. Around 11 a.m., rain began falling just west of 101 in the Miranda area

There is the possibility of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service in Eureka’s Facebook page. And up to a half inch of rain could fall in some areas.

As much as I usually dislike gray & wet weather I’m rooting for a Gully Washer for the time being at least!!!

I hope this storm makes its way down here to LA (that dirty word). It’s been predicted, so I’m holding out for optimism. I also hope the state gets walloped by rain this season. Oh, it won’t end the drought, just as that other walloping we got a few years back didn’t, but it’ll sure help. It was said that that really wet season “ended the drought,” but it really didn’t. We’re in a perpetual drought now, that would only be ended by several back-to-back seasons of excessive rain, which isn’t likely.

The rain predicted for Lame Ass is from the hurricane coming up Baja, different system entirely. Enjoy it. Nice south swell too.

The termites said no for much rain today. For the first rain of the season, when clouds of termites are in the air, it rains a good bit within 24 to 36 hours. If there are just a few, it will rain but not much. There have been only scattering of termites the last couple of days. So the first big rain is not quite yet. At least here.

It said it wasn’t predicted until the afternoon on every site I saw. The article just said it came earlier than predicted, not that it wasn’t predicted.
