You’re Invited to the ‘Roll~N~Stroll for Sequoia Park’ on September 29th

Join your friends, neighbors and community for a family-friendly, easy walk this Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the first “Roll~N~Stroll” for Sequoia Park to raise money for  Sequoia Park improvements and for Tri-County Independent Living projects. Park improvements will include greater accessibility beginning with the playground area with improved inclusion of all abilities throughout the park in the future.

Tri-County Independent Living and the City of Eureka, Community Services Department have partnered to put on this event which includes two fun walks of 2k and 5k along the recently finished Eureka Waterfront Trail. Sign-ups for these walks will start at 9:30 a.m. at the Boat Ramp under the Samoa Bridge, 1201 Waterfront Drive, Eureka, Ca.

Registration cost for each walk is $10 per individual; families over 3 members will be $20; and, children 12-years and younger are free!

Those wishing to sign-up early can stop by Tri-County Independent Living Office, 139 Fifth Street, Eureka, Ca. (corner of 5th and C Streets).

The “Roll~N~Stroll” for Sequoia Park will show off the beauty of the newly completed City of Eureka Waterfront Trail and recently installed art benches representing various points of history of our area.

Following the Roll~N~Stroll the city will be holding the Eureka Arts and Culture Festival/Waterfront Trail Festival. There will be various local artisans and crafts providing demonstrations and selling their goods.

I visit the park nearly every day. I just don’t see what”improvements” are in order. Other than invasive plant removal. Maybe bring back the taller slide on the playground.
