24-Hour Traffic Control Operations on Highway 36 Curve Realignment Project Starting Tomorrow
This is a press release from Caltrans District 2: This project is 4 miles west of Red Bluff.
Caltrans and Tullis Inc are working on a road realignment project including shoulder widening and upgrades to the drainage system. The project began the week of September 10, 2018 and it is scheduled to be completed by mid-November.
Beginning on Monday, September 17th and for approximately three weeks, there will be 24-hour traffic control operations in place with a pilot car due to the contractor pulverizing the existing road to finish the construction of a new roadway. During that period, motorists will be driving on an unpaved surface. The project is half-mile long.
We thank the traveling public in advance for their cooperation. Please remember to slow down during the construction zone and respect the cones. For questions or concerns please call Caltrans District 2 Public Information Office at (530) 225-3426 during business hours.

Where? 36 is a loooong road.
Kym, is this the section of road near Dinsmore? I don’t think it is due to the name of the contractor and the length of the area. I don’t think it’s the realignment project. Can you clarify?
A piece of information got left off. I’ve added it in. This project is 4 miles west of Red Bluff.
I was just going to post that this PR is worthless without a location and expected time of delay given that most times you are threading the needle to make the openings at Dinsmore. Thanks for making up for CalTrans’ deficiency.
Caltrans sent that information in the title. Unfortunately, the information didn’t make it into the post on the website.
Thank you 💜
kind of a pointless curve caltrans is taking out on this section, I’ve seen far more accidents on other sections of 36. Power and phone had to be moved for this project and some people got some yard space taken back.
Agreed.
