[UPDATE 7:18 p.m.: Reported Found] Missing Canadian Woman and Child Believed to Have Been Last Seen Camping in Six Rivers National Forest

Audrey Rodrigue and EmilyPress release from the San Mateo Police:

Audrey [Rodrigue] and Emily are from Canada and they arrived at SFO on 8/25/18. They came to the area to camp at various locations throughout California and rented a car at the airport (see description below). They checked into the Vagabond Hotel in Burlingame shortly after and checked out on 8/26/18 before noon. Audrey sent her boyfriend (still in Canada) a text message on 8/26/18, but he was unable to contact her after receiving the text. It is believed Audrey and Emily were headed to the Pigeon Point Hotel but they never arrived.

Audrey’s boyfriend reported them missing on 8/27/18. Audrey had a reservation for the Fish Lake Campgrounds located in the Six Rivers National Forest (Orleans, CA) for the 28th. US Forrest Service Rangers checked the camp area for Audrey and Emily showing photos of them to other campers and staff. Both park staff and other campers thought they saw Audrey and Emily there, but they left without knowing the Park Ranger’s came looking for them. It is believed they might have stopped at free camp sites along the coast. The neighbors and camp staff said Audrey and Emily appeared to be happy and not in distress.

We have sent “Be on the Lookout” flyers to all local law enforcement and allied agencies, but now we are asking for your help. If anyone has seen Audrey, Emily and or their rental car, please call 911, or Detective Fava at 650-363-4192.

Emily Rodrigue, 10 years old, blonde hair, blue eyes

UPDATE 7:18 p.m.: The San Franciso Chronicle is reporting that the missing pair have been found camping.

Fish lake in weitchpec seems like a strange place to B-line it to. That’s all I’m saying. Not a super friendly place for outsiders, more of a locals hangout.

In terms of water or dead body capacity? Those are different things.

Nope you’re wrong I know the area well. Come on, all I said was it’s a bit strange to fly from Canada, and head straight for fish lake. Dontcha think their might be a little something more to the story… hmmmm.

it’s one of the first places I went when I moved here. the fishing wasn’t very good, but it was nice and no problems. Blue lakes just up the road was better scenery, no problems there either. I however have had some fear fishing the river way down 169. I have found tweakers everywhere I fish in the north coast, central valley, sierra foothills, delta. the only place I haven’t is in the high backcountry of the trinity’s and sierra’s.

Fish Lake area is dangerous for family’s and individuals that are not local. I have herd stories from people in Eureka that has had life changing stories about being shot at and harassed. It is remote, it has no cell service or call box. It is in the heart of Bigfoot country. I pray these folks are found safe. It is too bad that people aren’t a bit nicer to folks but it is still the Wild West!

Utter bs. I heard from others, really spreading rumors. If you have never been there, shut up. Been there a milllion times without any issues. The Weitchpec store is nice and neat. Great views of the rivers. People are friendly. You act like a turd you will be treated like crap.

She probably didn’t know anything about the area. A number of years ago a male friend and myself, also male, camped out at Fish Lake. Three locals approached us and said we were camping on private property. Two guys appeared drunk. All three had guns. We apologized and told them we would leave as soon as we could. I have never been back to the area. There are areas in Humboldt County you could be in jeopardy of losing your life. Puts another definition to “in America you are free to go anywhere you choose”. Doubly a bad idea for a young lady and her son to camp at Fish Lake or the surrounding area. And if they were approached by the likes of the three men who approached us I fear the outcome will not be good. The remoteness makes it almost impossible to find persons who have been violated. A Garberville friend told me there are bodies buried in remote areas that may never be found. I can believe that.

Fish lake is actually a super friendly family camping spot on six rivers national forest land. It hosts the children’s fishing derby annually. I have never been approached or harassed there by hoodlums. There are rumors of bodies in the lake though. But that’s common all over Northern California. Reserve your camp spot for Labor Day weekend !

If a loved one is reading this, if she was last seen at Fish Lake I would officially make this Humboldt County Sheriff’s problem. No offense to San Mateo Police, but they are light years away in every respect from that area.

Sasquatch! an apex predator that lived through the K-T extinction. Physically unchanged for a hundred million years, because it’s the perfect killing machine. A half ton of cold-blooded fury, the bite force of 20,000 Newtons, and stomach acid so strong it can dissolve bones and hoofs.

Good point on cell service, if she has anything other than Verizon she is totally buggered, and even with Verizon she is pretty much buggered. Smaller urban focused carriers are worthless outside city limits.

With a 10 yo child in tow; sure as heck hope not. Odd that some one would take a school age child on a trip the week that public school started in most of Canada.

The roads aren’t the best. I’d say there is more of a risk she might have had an accident that anything else. It’s only common sense. A lot of these comments are just people inciting drama.

It sounds to me like someone was coming for a trim job and may be in an area working which has no cell service, like half of Humboldt County, lets hope she told someone who she was working for, seems like they need to trace her cell phone location, it can be triangulated by cell phone companies, fbi or cell phone evidence technicians. Run a trace to last pinged spot and start from there!! Do not waste anytime, lots of human smuggling happening in Humboldt County, esp pretty young women

In other words this lady and her daughter were doing exactly what they had planned to do on this trip. BF must have separation anxiety or something or maybe it’s just a Canadian thing. “It’s been 18 hours and my gf hasn’t texted back, time to report her missing ay”. Meanwhile out at Fish Lake Mom and daughter are sitting back doing a little fishing happier than a barrel of monkeys at a banana factory.

http://www.ktvu.com/news/canadian-mom-10-year-old-daughter-missing-on-bay-area-trip

San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies have found a mother and daughter visiting from Canada that were reported missing on Monday.

Officials say it was a “lapse in communication” between the mother and her boyfriend. They were fine the whole time and enjoying their vacation.

The sheriff’s office could not provide details on the communication breakdown, but did note that the two enjoyed their vacation and they’re flying home Friday.

Lol, so did any of the armchair sleuths here think they might just be camping? As they sad they’d be?

Everyone comes up with and expounds their theories, all based on nothing more than this very report.
Every single time.

Of course who would be criticizing if they had been lost and the Sheriff’s office did not find them before something bad happened, only directed at those saying there was nothing suspicious and calling them ignorant? Complaining about the drama after having bought the theater ticket is silly.
