I thought all shelters couldn’t adopt out animals until they are spayed or neutered. So isn’t saying he’s unaltered kind of a moot point if they have to chop them off before finding him a new home?

That’s a homeless person worthy of helping.
In a bad situation by no fault of his own.

It is rather puzzling that a “Pit Bull” Male is not neutered especially as they have a bad reputation to begin with…ESPECIALLY when they are still pumping tons of Testosterone (from not being neutered in the first place) … which ADDS aggression naturally to the otherwise mostly VERY Sweet Dog breed. Sadly TOO many (OVER) breed these Dogs to BE AGGRESSIVE & protective OR for some DEEP insecure “macho” tendency of the immature IRRESPONSIBLE “owner”(s) . ALL Dogs are NATURALLY protective of their “Families” and Their homes and they DO NOT NEED the addition of the stupidity of people that are either TOO insecure OR want to exploit the Beautiful Dogs for PROFIT…sadly this is too True. Calm down.
The “ad” for him is what was put out when he got to shelter. Its part of a description of dog if owner is looking for it.
All dogs are fixed before being adopted out which makes the price to adopt an amazing deal!
& just my personal 2 cents, all of you conjecturing about why the dog isnt fixed and oh my god whats going to happen…take that energy and call the shelter and ask them, or contact the 2 rescue groups who work with the shelter&know all that info too. The more truths online the better! The rumour mill can become a very nasty thing. Truth takes care of that!

Tip … average bill for a dog bite these days runs over $20k. Your homeowner’s policy won’t cover a pit bull.

I bet he’s super nice… Maybe you would go down to perform the neuter yourself? I mean, bad to arm chair quarterback and all, which after living in the lost coast seems to happen quite a bit… ! Cool pooooch
