A new start up can take time. There are state and federal inspections, as well as training and protocols that need to be in place before operation of a CT scanner. This of course is to ensure the safety of the patient and to have a quality program in place to provide diagnostically valuable images with little risk to the patient.
That being said, I think the CT scanner which is a new generation GE Revolution 64 slice will be a great resource to the community. It will provide the same quality imaging being done at any large university or metropolitan hospital and community members will no longer have to travel long distances to get state of the art CT scans.
