[UPDATE 8:50 p.m.: Reopened] Hwy 36 Closed After New Fire Breaks Out East of Platina

Cal Fire announced around 10 a.m. that Hwy 36 is now closed between Platina Road and the R Wild Horse Ranch after the Gorge Fire began spreading this morning north of Beegum Gorge and east of Hwy 36.

UPDATE 8:50 p.m.: Caltrans just posted on Facebook, “SR 36 west of Red Bluff and near Platina Rd is open as of Sunday evening.”
