Humboldt is a serious disaster. Sooo much serious crimes lately.
Should ask the jackass so hum offspring that burn cars all over so hum.
Yes – any car left overnight ’round here seems to be fair game for vandalism, theft and burning….they don’t usually contain…err…remains
I wish…we cannot get anyone to even tag the abandoned cars in my town. Repeated calls to CHP of no help.
No consequences for actions.until we change this, it’s only going to get worse. If your guilty, you die. PUBLIC DISPLAY, no games, no court, no jail.
Please remind me again how we determine guilt without using jails and courts.
Jails have nothing to do with the determination of guilt. Good police work and the courts are in charge of all that. This whole area has gotten way out of hand! Just about all the good folks in my neighborhood have that could afford to have left in droves because of all the crime, cartel activity and a real lack of law enforcement because of under staffing and because of jail overcrowding, judges are just letting even violent and serious drug offenders basically just walk away after only a few hours in jail if arrested at all.
Lovely. Yes, the Middle Ages was such a lovely time. Who wouldn’t want to revisit it? Any sane person maybe. Spoiler: their brutal notions of justice did not result in a crime-free Utopia.
Yet, the Sheriff Dept. refuse to set bait cars up anywhere. Get cars from the junk yard, set them on back roads up there with a backpack on a seat, a couple tree cams for evidence, and sit overnight in the cover. To catch rats, you gotta set some traps!!
Looks like a Range Rover expensive suv from out area to get there weed and didn’t work out so well for them! Another marijuana prob and drug prob!! Maybe not weed but prob drugs especially out that way sucks for county
I think you are making some broad assumptions.
It’s an older Ford expedition, I have one that looks just like it. Get your facts straight before opening your mouth. This is a tragedy not a conspiracy theory.
Thank you. Well said. So tired of people jumping to the worst conclusion.
? Especially out this way? …..Land owners and hardworking families, many of whom contribute to the local community in various ways all year long….that is who I know, out this way!
2 dead Chinamen were found in a van near Fort Bragg a couple of years ago. It turns out it was the handiwork of “Shrimp Boy”, the Chinese gangster in SF.
Chinamen?!? How Victorian.
Michael, you’re out of your element! Michael, the Chinaman is not the issue here!
No, Michael, these men are nihilists, there’s nothing to be afraid of.
That truck really tied the yard together…..
Two bodies found in a parked, burning vehicle on a well travelled SoHum road!? Hummmmm.
Maybe it’s domestic violence? Or maybe a murder suicide? A mobile meth lab? A faulty gas tank? A mafia hit? Maybe in lala land but, in all likelihood it’s probably just a continuation of the 3-4 decades of marijuana related violence in Humboldt County. You ever wonder about how many bodies are still buried in unknown graves in SoHum? “broad assumptions”? I don’t think so.
I was actually talking mainly about the out of the area part of the comment. But, until we know more, there is a lot of speculation and very little facts at the moment.
Why no updates on the information gathered in the last 24hrs? This is a high profile brutal crime that has shocked and troubled the residents of this area. Keeping people informed of just minor facts curtails some amount of speculation. I’d think the sheriffs department would find it important to keep its citizens up to date on their efforts regarding this case. If a suspect is possibly still in the area, that would be nice to know, considering. Only takes a minute to run the vehicle identification, was the truck registered to the victim(s), registered to a possible suspect, reported stolen? Were the victims male or female, preliminary identities known, residents of the area? They ask for the public’s help, that’s hard when one has nothing to go on. Something as simple as say, it was two females could trigger, oh I saw two females talking to a man at the junction at whatever o’clock when I stopped to make a call, the girls looked like this, the man looked like that, they were standing by a white truck…you know what I mean, people want to help.
I understand there is a lot of red tape, procedures and policies to follow. Went through that last year with Jesse. We all knew it was Jesse, I was standing there when he died, but you couldn’t publish his name until they gave a release. Although in your previous articles you were allowed to state he was a 43yr old male resident of Shelter Cove and suspect Eric Lively was blasted out on front street. So I don’t understand why so hush hush on this case about even those simple details.
You make some really good points Frodalee . As one of the victims family members I can tell you its completely overwhelming wanting to know what really happened to my brother and not being able to find any answers
The police certainly know who owned the car. They are not going to release details that could jeopardize the investigation. Some things to consider:
having lots of cash money can get you killed,
having lots of drugs can get you killed,
looking at someone the wrong way can get you killed,
snitching on someone can get you killed,
putting your *&^$ where it should’t be can get you killed,
being in the wrong place at the wrong time can get you killed,
having a cell phone that cops mistake as a gun can get you killed,
______________________ (fill in the blank) can get you killed.
Enjoy everyday because a ton of different s^%# can get you killed.
Supersuspiciousness!
I smell a rat.
Is it just me, or have a whole lot of comments disappeared from this post?
