  • I was writing to an old friend yesterday. I mentioned that the fires, like the rains, made Humboldt into an island of sorts. With 299 and 36 iffy at best, there is little or no access to the east, and a couple times a week 101 is closed for several hours between here and Willits because of traffic accidents.

I would have LIKED for this to be an exaggeration.
Then I read the news this morning…

  • My heart goes out to the people in this accident. It looks to be horrific. Blessings to family and friends also.

  • I was traveling south this morning came up on this accident about a minute or so after it happened. Looked real bad. Chp and cal fire showed up shortly after. My condolences to the families. May they find peace through this tragedy.
