Andrew Brake, age 40, who died overnight in a vehicle accident while on his way to the Carr Fire, used to be a firefighter in Bridgeville. According to the Cal Fire Humboldt – Del Norte union, “Andrew started his career in the Humboldt -Del Norte Unit as a firefighter assigned to Bridgeville Station until he started as a HEM in BEU and eventually transferring to the Butte Unit. He said, “Anne and I offer our condolences to the family and loved ones of Andrew Brake, who passed away in a vehicle accident on his way to work this morning.
Cal Fire said, “Brake grew up in Chico and is survived by his parents, Melvin and Teresa, daughters Marissa, 20, and Miranda, 16, and their mother Liberté. Brake is also survived by his sister Lyndsay Barrett, her husband, Bryan, and their children Lily and Jackson. Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff in his honor.”

Gods speed mate, Gods speed and all the energy and white light that can be to you and yours
Every person’s life ends in death, but not in the same way. It is only the details of how they lived and how they died that distinguish one person from another. Three people. A man with outward courage facing the potential of death. A vibrant young nurse and mother that lived to see others live. A third we will never understand. All together, they would watch everything that they so carefully planned. And now our hearts die a slow death, dropping like leaves from a tree shedding each hope and memory until one day there are none left. Nothing remains, except death………………….
Yikes. Well I’m depressed now.

A salute to you and your loved ones. R.I.P.
