CAL FIRE Reminds You ‘California is Experiencing an Unprecedented Start to 2018 Fire Season’
This is a press release from CAL FIRE:
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) Humboldt-Del Norte Unit Chief Kurt McCray would like to take a moment to remind everyone that California is experiencing an unprecedented start to 2018 fire season. State, Federal, and Local Agency fire crews are spread throughout California cooperatively battling several large fires as well as responding to numerous calls of service. The current weather patterns are predicted to continue to bring hot and dry weather to all areas of California producing record low humidities and fuel moisture which may result in large fire growth.
The public is reminded to stay alert to current critical weather and fire conditions. Please adhere to any road closures and evacuation warnings that may be issued in the area you are living or traveling. As a reminder yield to emergency vehicles and watch out for emergency personnel working alongside or near roadways. Residual smoke from the ongoing fires may continue to impact the local area.
You can obtain more information on fires in California or your local area by going to www.readyforwildfire.org or by going to the twitter pages @CAL_FIRE or @CALFIRE_HUU.

Kurt knows of which he speaks. We’re lucky to have him in that position. This alert just came out yesterday:
