UPDATE 12:39 p.m.: According to Cal Fire Battalion Chief Paul Savona, the fire is currently about three acres. Three engines from multiple volunteer fire departments are on scene–Loleta, Fortuna, and Ferndale. One dozer and the Cal Fire helicopter is also fighting the fire.

“It is burning in beach grass,” he explained. “And, it is currently contained on the beach….I don’t believe it will get much bigger.”
