This ‘Gentle, Calm, and Happy’ Guy Needs a Good Home

From the Humboldt County Animal Shelter:

WILLY – 3 year old Plott hound mix
Willy is a gorgeous, glossy chestnut brindle with an impressive set of ears! He is an ardent sniffer, as a good hound dog should be. He is gentle, calm, and happy, and seems quite interested in meeting other dogs. He is lanky and rather thin, but doesn’t seem interested in treats at all. He is an easy walker, but it’s uncertain how much training he may have had. He’s friendly and enjoys being touched, but he did cringe when the ball was thrown near him- he’s not a fetcher.

Please forgive my ignorance, but is he an indoor or an outdoor dog? Does he stay in a kennel or in the house at night. He seems to be what i have been looking for , for my son. He loves to walk in the mountains and I think Willy might make a good companion.
Thank you,, Jen
