EPD Looking for Surveillance Footage of Burglary/Sexual Assault Suspect

This is a press release from the Eureka Police Department:

On July 25, 2018, at about 8:00 a.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a residence on the 3300 block of Summer Street for the report of a burglary and attempted sexual assault that had just occurred.

The victim said an unknown male made entry into her home and attempted to assault her in her bedroom. The suspect fled out a rear door when the victim threatened to grab a weapon. The suspect was described as a white male, 30’s, 5’10”, thin build, blond hair, and was wearing a red sweatshirt with white writing and brown cargo style pants.

Detectives are asking that anyone with surveillance cameras in between the area of Highland and Buhne and Fairfield and A Streets check for a subject matching the suspect description between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. It is unknown if the suspect left the area on foot or in vehicle. Anyone with surveillance or information is asked to email Detective Watson at [email protected]

At this time, it appears this incident occurred at random. The suspect has not been identified and the investigation is ongoing. Residents are encouraged to be diligent in locking all doors and windows at all times. Be aware of suspicious activity and report it to your local police department.

BS I lived on Pine below Harris for a year and a half. That’s where the shootout happened, remember? Homeless go up and down these streets and hide in the greenbelts with the raccoons. Many arrests up and down W Harris in that area. Do not speak of what you do not know.

CCW. Shoot him ladies. Ask questions later. Or…. according to millions of snowflakes who are afraid of guns and think there “evil”, just lay down and become a victim

Because law enforcement is trying to apprehend him, it might be a good idea if we know what he looks like yeah?

Noticed all the victim had to do was threatened to grab a weapon! Imagine how quickly he would have fled if when opening the door he came face-to-face with a 12 gauge. Now imagine if the victim’s only recourse was to try to call 911.
