[UPDATE 4:20 p.m.] After White SUV Hits Power Pole on SR162, It Catches Fire, Flames Spreading

Traffic Hazard iconA white SUV which hit a power pole on State Route 162 not far from the exit from Hwy 101 is partially enveloped in flames at 3:40 p.m. The pole collapsed and lines fell across 162. Sparks from the lines sent fire spreading into the nearby vegetation, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

Some residents in the area are currently without power.

UPDATE 4:06 p.m.: Some fire resources are being sent back which usually means that firefighters are handling the situation. CHP page states no one was injured in the accident.

UPDATE 4:20: Lanes are closed until PG&E arrives to deal with the downed lines.

People trying to get home We have had so many roads closed You would think it was winter I don’t even want to think of the rest of summer At least no one hurt
