All the way from Kansas and Hwy 1 bites them. Here’s to a speedy recovery and to happy travels.

Many of our unimproved two lane state routes were originally wagon trails/Native trails. They are not aligned for anything but very slow travel in many places, particularly that portion of CA 1. It is a wonder with so little driver training anymore that there are not more incidents and accidents along 1, 36, even 199 and 299.

I wish these folks a speedy recovery and I am not blaming them for having an accident. Shit happens.

But let’s be clear. Our roads aren’t the problem most of the time.

As a comment on another article said earlier this week, “Look out for those redwoods that will leap out in front of you!”

Sometimes the road will run away from you too.

Again, I wish these folks well and hope we do not read more articles like this over the summer.

Slow down! Enjoy the scenery.

Agreed. The idea of a relaxing motorcycle trip along scenic Hwy 1 can be quite different from the demanding reality of it.
