Doesn’t seem like there are a lot more vehicle fires these days than there used to be… ?
This was a common occurrence when VW bugs and buses were carbureted into the 1970’s. You had two lengths of braided fuel hose from the fuel pump to the carb, with a inline fuel filter in the middle. You had four hose clamps to secure the lines. Over time due to heat, vibration, hose shrinkage, and just age the fuel hose would shrink and/ or develop a crack. Sometimes the lines would just come off. Sometimes the fuel filer itself could separate and leak. We eventually got away from rubber hoses and plastic filters in favor of metal fuel lines.
Since the muffler is just below these leaking fuel lines you’ll usually get a fire. In the 60’s and 70’s when these cars were very popular, it was hard to drive around town without seeing a burned deck lid now and then from a past fire! They are great little cars!
Unfortunately it looks like this bus is a total loss.
And then there was water
Yes Lone Ranger, as long as they did not use over their 55 gallon a day limit. Good old Jerry Brown!!!!
Because there is limitless water? Blame trump😁
Build a wall before SoCal gets it.
Was that Cheech & Chang doing the video?
Sorry so sad to see the classic go, them old bugs NEED THE VALVES ADJUSTED EVERY 2000 MILES! The next time….
Someone dropped their joint.
At least it wasn’t Miranda this time.
Now I’m reminded why I dislike rap.
That van is a total loss, I’m so sorry..
always heard that excessive use of profanity is the sign of a dim mind.
And I’ve always heard the opposite…https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/27/smarter-living/the-case-for-cursing.html
