Guy Fieri, Humboldt’s Platinum Native Son, to Get Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Technically, Guy Fieri was born in Ohio but Humboldt claims him as their own. Today, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the newest honorees to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Humboldt’s Platinum Prince, Guy Fieri, is one. Fieri along with Alvin And The Chipmunks, Candice Bergen, Terrence Howard, Stacy Keach, Sid and Marty Krofft, Lucy Liu, Mandy Moore,  Dianne Wiest, and Julia Child (Posthumous) will be honored in the category of Television.

Fieri has two years to schedule a star ceremony before it expires. According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, “[T]he cost of installing a star on the Walk of Fame upon approval is $40,000 and the sponsor of the nominee accepts the responsibility for arranging for payment to the Hollywood Historic Trust, a 501(c)3 charitable foundation. The funds are used to pay for the creation/installation of the star and ceremony, as well as maintenance of the Walk of Fame.”
