A bit early still for big fires, this could be another long HOT, DRY Summer!!! I hope not for the VFD’s around here as well as Cal Fire up the road in Bridgeville proper!!! Best of luck on getting it down & out quickly!!!
White smoke, good sign, grass and brush? lots of water nearby. thanks!
Yeah until it hits all that dead timber above from the fires 2 years ago!!
Great response by Forest Service!
Ooh, I’m first to comedy… I mean comment. Umm let me guess…, had something to do with a cigarette smoker in a passing car or truck.
could be dragging chains with a boat trailer. part of my routine for prepping the boat is twisting the chains to remove the slack. but I saw someone toss a lit cig just the other day and both sides of the road was tall tan grass that Caltrans hasn’t got to yet.
I’m live in the house on Park place right next to the A frame that was in the path of
the fire. The fire didn’t come to us. We have an overflow that runs down the bank. The water stopped it, the wind went east. Our house was in jeopardy in the big fire a few years ago. It just missed us again. We think it was a cigarette also.
Thanks, Kym. Saw the helo & plane fly over from Rhonerville… wondered what was up.
Go Copter 102!
Thank your local firefighters. They get out here in the wind and heat and defend our homeland.
Thank you Kym, neighbors and their older kids just headed out for the lake, guess it will be ok to go thru by the time they get there
It should be fine.
How did the fire truck catch fire and burn?
What type of truck was it?
Egad…That was a rather awful mistake. Fixed now.

I’m BEYOND thankful to ALL the first responders who worked quickly & efficiently to get this fire poked out before it had a chance to do some awful damage. I’m also thankful that our good friends’ house was unaffected. I would always rather have the first responders cut our gate open to access a safe place to fight the fire from, rather than let it burn out of control. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Words just can not adequately express my gratitude toward everyone involved.
