AMBER FriendA Miranda woman is in custody on child endangerment charges following an ongoing investigation into community complaints that led to the discovery of illegal drugs and paraphernalia during a probation search earlier this month.

On June 4, 2018, deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office conducted a probation search at a residence on River Road in Miranda in response to community complaints regarding unusual vehicle and foot traffic. During that search, deputies located a large number of prescription pills, Methamphetamine, loaded hypodermic syringes and other drug paraphernalia. No arrests were made during this search.

When deputies arrived on scene, they observed a vehicle associated with Friend turn down River Road from State Highway 254 traveling toward the property. Upon seeing deputies, Friend began backing the vehicle onto State Highway 254 away from the property. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Friend was taken into custody without incident.Drugs found

  • meth = misery

Complaints is not really the right word IMO. Concern & alarm might be more accurate. And it took weeks if not months to get an appropriate response from the agencies involved.

    • They have to investigate all complaints and sometimes it takes time to have legal rights to enter a residence. Just happy the kids are now safe.

    • It takes a minute to build a case that will get you back the quiet enjoyment of your homes.

  • pretty hard core for 30,,,looks 50 if a day,,,wait till gravity effects those tats

    • Agreed, The local druggies appearances certainly boost myself esteem. In that I don’t look like i am 3x my age.

  • What are those blue pills? Viagra? The dude that hooks up with her is going to need them.

  • Heh heh heh…

  • the face of inconsolable sorrow. i hope she gets better.

    • Thanks for your compassionate response.
I hope this is her lowest point. Too bad for her she’s having it on the internet.

  • “knowingly renting a space for the purpose of unlawfully storing or distributing a controlled substance for sale.”

I still don’t understand why the local hotels and motels aren’t charged with this.

    • It’d shut down the National 9 for sure

    • blaming the hotels and landlords like the squires for a situation they didn’t create but serve is dumb. you can have these addicts inside shooting up or outside. they aren’t going anywhere so choose wisely.

      • Oh please, Squire knew who he was renting to. Open & in your view drug dealing with roach infested apartments. It took YEARS to shut down his subsidized Section 8 housing thanks to Gallegos. Bad analogy.

        • Like that stopped it.

        • where is it you believe these people are from? of course he knew who he was renting to. I can assure you that Danco and Strombeck also know who they will be renting to now that some competition has been removed via the City and former City employee and his wife. its a shitshow.

    • This person is squatting in a trailer in the front yard of the old Simmons residence, the owner is in an old folks home. The town has been trying to get the relatives to kick her out but they don’t seem to care

  • At 4:20 PM?

D@mn… wrong drug. Still funny though.

  • “the face of inconsolable sorrow. i hope she gets better.”

She looks like see is somewhat lucid in her booking photo and I see shame as well.

I don’t think any parent sets out to be so messed up.

May she get and stay clean.

May her children be kept safe and with good foster folks.

    Heartbreaking for the children.

Hopes she does not just OR out and not stay in long enough to detox.

  • How dare they take her children away from her. We are better than that. We should not be separating families. The children need to be reunited with their mom.

    • Sound a lil sore from another political fail. The 2 are not the same, This woman was willingly, putting this child in a drug infested den. Asylum seekers are fleeing gangs, drugs, a corrupt system & persecution, to keep their families safe. Huge difference, you just sound silly and bitter. Lay off the Kool-Aid, its bad for your health. I see some fox news and friends are taking that advice lately!

      • Lol..now that’s funny…she should be in jail..so should the people that sneak in our country…the kids go to the system..sad but true…a crime is a crime…

    • Ridiculous! Apples and oranges, just stop! Hope those kids get to finally live the life they deserve instead of the life they have been living. The only drama I ever see in the neighborhood comes out of that house. Good riddance to her! Her kids deserve better!

      • More like oranges and tangerines because you’re are talking about separating family’s because of a crime and I’m sure her kids are absolutely heartbroken. It’s okay if they’re drug addicts, so what now the border patrol starts drug testing and it’s okay?

    • Seek help. Hardly the same and you know it.

    • I know her she does not need her kids

    • Only after she is clean 4 a year then she will have a chance to get them back shes goin court ordered drug court outpatient program i graduated 2015 so i knkw it can b done

  • If you’re a drug addict you don’t deserve your kids get real she ain’t worried about them she just cares about getting high

  • Mucho Chaka chaka !

    No more chaka chaka?

  • What a crying damn shame…I hope that, one way or another, the kids are able to recover from the inevitable harm of such an environment and have a good future.
Ideally, this will make Amber wake the hell up and get the help she needs to get her act together and eventually be a positive part of the kids lives.

  • They didn’t mention she was “backing” out at 30 miles an hour with her unrestrained child in the back all the way down the road with the cops chasing her. It’s been a shitshow for months. Thank God something was finally done. Look out neighbors, the tweakers are coming out of the woodwork looting that place now.

  • The blue pills are fentanyl

  • It’s sad that these people still breed.

  • And she’s already out.there goes the neighborhood again
