Chipper Chaps Charging CHeerfully towards chopping convoy chipperA chipper rumbling north indicates law enforcement lightning is striking someone’s cannabis clutch today.

We’ve received a credible report of two Mendocino County Sheriff’s pickups, a truck pulling a chipper, and two more unidentified dark colored vehicles heading north on the 101 north of Willits about 8:30 this morning.

UPDATE 11:57 a.m.: Several readers reported seeing a convoy headed out to the Covelo area.

Or we stopped those (growers) destroying nature in the name of money…. are you talking about the Out of State owned Timber Companies, the Wineries who are destroying the Oak Woodlands 1000 acres at a time bulldozed or are you talking about PG&E and Sonoma County stealing all the Eel River water, killing the salmon, so wealthy winegrape growers can make a fkrtune off the water and illegal immigrant workers? What is a 100ftx100ft grow compared to 5000 acres of clearcut logging or a 1000 acre meadow being bulldozed for winegrapes which will be pressed into alcohol? Good try though, everyone knows timber and winegrapes are responsible fkr killing our rivers, salmon and environment, the cannabis destroying the environment scam is a ruse at best!

The cannabis issue became a mess because too many people had this a priori assumption that marijuana was some fiendish product of crazy hippies rather than just another crop. A five acre food farm supplying the farmers market has the same impact on the land and water. Unless the the crazy pot farmers dump loads of poison and uncontrolled fertilizer because they are stupid. All the regs already in place for corn and tomatoes work fine for weed. All the hand-wringing and moaning has been a waste of time and money. Farms and homesteads use water and land that is no longer available to nature. Deal with it

There may be the occasional farmer who uses greenhouses in our area to grow exotics but none that I’ve seen do it enmass by carving out a shelf on the side of mountains, killing every other plant in the area, hijack a whole creek, put in diesel generators, etc except for pot growers who rely on huge profits for their products to pay for this. No, they are not and have never been like other farmers.

They may become like real farmers if the money dries up and they are forced to stop treating the law as something they can ignore at will. But not yet and certainly not in the past.

If the money dries up then the pot growers will become more like wineries and will just log and bulldoze more land to achieve the same profits they have always had. Price goes down, solution? Grow twice as much. The black market will never dry up and the profits will never be lossed from pot while the dispensaries are selling 8ths in Humboldt County for 60 bucks. Just sayin

You need to look harder. Diesel grows are being phased out and not everyone behaves the way you seem to need them to. Spend a lot of time in the crop fields, do you? Thousands of acres of oak woodland killed and every plant killed for grapes. Can’t see it. Where does the water come from? You’re going to see what you need to see and nothing else, so go ahead on it. Nothing and nobody is perfect, not me, not you, not agriculture. Garberville suffers economically as we try to go legal. Can’t see it.

It’s a fantastic plant, yet it drives folks who don’t use it to distraction.

That’s about the fairest statement yet. Bravo Kym. CDFW has great file photos of Humboldt nursery streams completely bulldozed by loggers and then left to blow out in the winter. I try to avoid hypocrisy as a spiritual goal but it’s tough as many religions are. There are bad actors everywhere. I learned on the Spotted Owl Survey team that the farther back you went in Six Rivers N. F. , the more atrocious the logging sites. Who’s gonna see it? I dunno, the fish?

But, it doesn’t say that, it says 5000 acres of clearcuts.

In the Lassen foothills there are many, many clearcuts that are a mile to a side. That’s over six hundred acres per clearcut. Ten of those and you have 6000 acres, and there are many more than 10.

You realize that everyone’s house is where nature used to be? Every time a new acre of grapes is planted that used to be nature as well right. (63000 new acres planted in the past 3years) so is ok to build a house where nature is? Or are we all supposed to move to San Francisco and cram into high rises where water is pumped for hours to let us shower and drink. By the way San francisco used to be nature too. You drive your car and look at your phone when you need to all of which required nature to completely disturbed and ripped up along with the shoes you wear and all the dye in your clothes which cause rivers to run looking like the color of the day in foreign countries. But that’s ok because you don’t see it. You choose to point the finger at your fellow human instead of looking inward. Does your car run on renewable fuel source? Do you farm and contribute to the food source for your fellow human or are you just a locust like the majority of the population eating what you need and using what you need with little regard to the distruction that is caused by your own needs and wants. We are all guilty of the distruction of our planet. We consume and repopulate and do very little to replant and regrow nature. The closer to cities the more resources are needed to fuel our wants and desires.

It’s not necessarily true that the closer to cities the more resources are used. There is a movement for inter city sustainable farming using rooftops and abandoned warehouses to provide locally grown food to large populations without trucking it in from hundreds if not thousands of miles away. Walking and biking is more of an option when you live closer to work and shops. All those batteries and solar panels used for off-grid power are manufactured somewhere else and have to be transported in. Generators and the fuel to run them comes from somewhere else. Living in the hills actually takes alot of outside resources and energy, even off the grid.

Payday for the Keystone Coppers, this means new school clothes for the kids, a new car for the Mrs., and a New Gun and Quad for the deputy. Lots of money to be siphoned or ripped off from the top of the money piles during these organized terror campaigns. I wonder how many times it happens a month that these very same guys hired to protect and serve, serve themselves to your money then stick together to protect one another….. If its a $100k then guaranteed only 10 or 15k gets turned in. When will these narco state sanctioned violent raids end? How many more screaming kids will be ripped from their mothers arms and placed in child molesting mendo foster homes? How much money will these goon squads steal and take home for their own families? How is this beneficial when these guys turn around and sell their pounds to their buddies who are already connected in the black market. Mendo needs to get out of the “cannabis regulation” business and write all the rules down on a bar napkin like John Pinvhes said he could do. Allow all Mendo Residents to grow 25 plants and leave us all alone. The Sheriff and his goon squad have done enough damage and harm to the farmers, families and residents of Mendocino County. 33rd Degree Mason Allman and his bunch are evil wicked men and can not be trusted on any level.

Ive visited some grows post bust and theres absolutely nothing going on to regenerate any forest or waterway.
Basically these parcels are now cleared lots for the sheriffs to auction off so someone can build a house, or another garden, there. The person busted already built the roads too.
Leaving streams diverted and hot dry open ground that invites invasive plants does zero to help the environment.

If anyone thinks theyre actually busting folks to help the environment youre being fed a big ole plate of BS!
Look up humboldt county sheriffs and earth first timber wars. The sheriffs were the private police for the timber corporation that took over.
It got to the point where thieves knew that all resources would go to a protest so more home breakins would happen during big protests.
Its all about the money.

Many people in the community have been offered charges dropped in exchange for titles to their land and vehicle(s). The feds do it all the time, its a huge issue around the country and even cops will tell you thats a main reason why so few meth labs/houses get busted.

Marijuana getting into schools creates addicts which drain society with their issues.

I for one enjoy seeing lives of marijuana growers wrecked and them forced to work a real job.

Marijuana growers are a drain on society and wreck communities.

The fewer the better as the one thing the world needs is less marijuana and the addicts it creates.

Sometimes it does but, like with pot, the humans so inclined don’t care about the destructive effects enough to stop using that either. Why do pot people keep trotting that other people do bad things as if that justified adding their bit to misery? That is a common delusion among robbers too. The “there are murderers you haven’t caught so why do you pick on me for being a thief.” They really do tend to spout such self justifications all the time. Anyone thinking this way is never likely to never see the point.

Who never existed unless you consider the Colville (?) family to be the origin of the legend. And they were a lovely group of upper class villains who murdered and stole from anyone they could, including holding people for ransom while persuading their families go fork over by torturing their victims. Then they ran to hide behind their family castle walls if the authorities threatened.

Oh, there were lots of successful robbers in history. It’s the giving to the poor part that was always absent, despite the fantasies of popular imagination.

Despite the bias that the lack of education causes drug addiction, it simply is not true. Drug addiction is caused mostly by high exposure to drugs. Of any sort. Once the idea that is ok to use drugs to make you feel good takes hold, nothing else matters. The entertainment industry is infamously riddled with drug abuse- a notoriously liberal group. The medical industry is heavily involved- a highly educated group. Any place where there is access, there are people choosing that way.

That is simply not true. Liberal Hollywood is infamous for drug abuse. The well educated medical field has serious problems too.

What makes for wide spread drug addiction is exposure by family, friends and environment. Once drugs are there and accepted, they will be used. Any drugs. Just the idea that a drug is harmless enjoyment is enough to get there.

Because you seem to believe that anything geared selling to the masses must be intrinsically wrong and that academics are all noble, self effacing and totally guided by science and scholarship? It is an easier path than argument to attack the credentials of an opponent in argument than their ideas.

In truth academia, especially at the upper levels, is riddled by ego trips, intense competition for both position and money, petty jealousy, bureaucracy and self protection. Everything they publish need careful examination before relying on it if it is important and it doesn’t matter if the information is direct or filtered through the common press. Individual perspicacity is of much more value than relying on academic degrees in deciding value. After all I can’t see that the Boston Globe is sacrosanct either.

But just because the inference was nasty-

I have also visited plenty of grows post bust, however, quite a lot was done in an effort to clean up the place (as is required with Cleanup and Abate Orders): illegal grading was either recontoured or, if stable, heavily covered with erosion control measures and then revegetated; diverted streams from illegal or unmaintained crossings were put back in their original channels; and those stream crossings were decommissioned or upgraded to function in even in extreme rainfall.

Also, from my experience 90% of the roads that exist on rural properties were built long ago (pre-grower) from the loggers or ranchers, usually without permits for stream crossings.

Lastly, I really don’t think that because the Sheriff busts a grow on a property, that they are suddenly the ones responsible for the land and get to sell it off for their personal (or department) gain. If a property owner leaves the site prior to cleaning/paying up, the County puts a lien on the property. If someone wants to buy it they have to pay all the fees associated with the property and restore the site before they can do anything (legal) on it. I’m not saying the sheriffs department isn’t corrupt and selling people’s belongings (cars, jewelry, etc.) illegally/immorally, because they most certainly are according to our local journalists, but they definitely are not being put in charge of selling any derelict rural properties.

You are right, they do put liens against the property for all of the things that were done to the property and the cleaning up of it and if the owner does not pay off the liens it is the same as not paying their taxes, the property can be auctioned off by the county but if the state and county are both involved in the bust the money is split up between all involved. They also have auctions for confiscated and found merchandise. This is what the coroner was supposed to do with a deceased persons items if there were no heirs.

When we’re discussing cartoons in a cartoon graveyard, rather than defending your position using slave-speak, whether they have a pretend warrant (no signed affidavit under penalties of perjury that they witnessed you commit a crime (murder, rape , theft), or guns and clubs, the question remains the same – do you have jurisdiction? If they say yes, ask can you prove that? What they never have is jurisdiction over the living. Paper to paper. Flesh to flesh. Not paper to flesh or flesh to paper. Remember, this isn’t an economic evolution, it’s a spiritual one.

You can always tell the dis-info agents, they never bring up facts.

Routine traffic stop.. (no one injured)..
Cop… licence, registratoin, and proof of insurance…or Do you know why I am stopping you.. whatever his opening line..

You.. Forgive me officer, you seem to have me confused with a person, I am not a person I am a people, a trinity of mind, body and spirit, created in the image of God. Before you make a mistake I am obligated to inform you that you have no jurisdiciton over people, only over persons.

Cop… what the heck are you talking about, … are you some kind of wiseguy (you are), give me your license, registration, and insurance or I’m going to arrest you..

You… Brother I have no desire to charge you with bringing a controversy into my life. If you do not understand what I have told you, then for your own protection go to your car and contact a magistrate, and ask them if you have any jurisdiction over an immortal living soul. Your ignorance of the law is no excuse, and if you persist I’ll be forced to arrest the bond of the franchise you represent.

Cop . . . I’ll give you one more chance to cooperate.

You.. Very well then, on and for the record, I accept your oath and bond for the office you occupy, and that of your superiors. I am the Tribunal of the Court of Record, and I order you to immediately return to your vehicle and leave me in peace. If you refuse, then bring your superior before me, so I can lay down the law.

–Oath to the land jurisdiction, but they practice the law of the Sea Merchant –guilty until proven innocent. As for a Bond – forget it. They do not have one. Hence, cartoons in a cartoon graveyard = lie-ability in their personal capacity.

Lost Croat Outburst,

The basic problems are serious greed and apathy.

The over population mantra, not unlike the global warming mantra, and “Legalize” federal b.s., holds no water – just fear (false evidence appearing real), spoon-fed to us, Repeatedly, through the political media’s agenda of the county’s agenda of the state’s agenda of the country’s agenda of the global agenda. “It’s just one big stroke job.” -George Carlin

Mariahgirl,

Again . . .The weakness is the lack of validity.

Who can place a valid lien on private property?

Does the lien have to lawfully be rendered from a court of competent jurisdiction?
With all parties of interest (served due process notification), present.

Is an incompetent fact witness a party of interest?

Who does the actual recording?

Does Humboldt County have a recorder?
