A Memorial to George Wayne Grant on the Anniversary of His Passing
This section includes both obituaries and memories. Honoring our loved ones who have died does not end immediately after their passing. We recognize that… so we’re extending our obituary section to include individuals who may have left a long time ago. If you want to remember someone who is gone, either recently or longer ago, please send a photo and a few sentences to [email protected].
George Wayne Grant was killed in a hydroplane accident on the Klamath River in Happy Camp on June 8, 1997 at the age of 29. He would have turned 50 this year.

Hey Kym. I think you have an error in your headline. It looks like he would have been 50 this year, but the accident was 21 years ago today.
Ack…Really, I shouldn’t try to put together posts at midnight. Thank you!
Great guy. He was a calm easy going young man at that time. I know without hesitation that at 50; he would be as respectful and responsible for his family and community. Happy memorial b day. Miss you bro.
May 8 would have been his 50th birthday, today is the 21st anniversary of his passing ❤️
I think I’ll just crawl back into bed….Sigh, really fixed it this time, I hope.
👍🏼 Thanks
I miss this man George Grant I worked with him for 8 years but has always been a family friend prior to working with him. A gentle man that had gone on before us all around he was a great husband son and cousin and friend to many.
R.I.P GEORGE GRANT AKA H2O
One of the saddest moments of my life. So far from his family when I wanted to be near.
I remember when the accident happened. Condolences to the family
Miss you brother…..#h20
My husband, Dana, admired him very much. One our first dates was going to watch the boat races on the Sacramento River in the Redding area. Dana was very sad to hear of his passing. Whenever we watch boat races on t.v. we think of him.
We both thought a lot of George,a fine young man, taken too soon.
