[UPDATE 12:37 p.m.] 101 Partially Blocked After Pedestrian Injured by Hit and Run Vehicle on Broadway in Eureka

At approximately 12 p.m., a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Broadway near West Del Norte in the middle turn lane. The vehicle, reportedly a black older Mitsubishi hit the pedestrian and continued onwards turning eastbound on Wabash.

One lane of southbound traffic is blocked. One lane of north is blocked.

UPDATE 12:35 p.m.: Both lanes of traffic in both directions are open now.

There are security cameras that might have caught the incident, according to our reporter on the scene. Law enforcement is investigating.

One witness tailed the car up which had a loud exhaust up Wabash but lost it.

UPDATE 12:37 p.m: According to a witness, traffic was stopped when the black Mitsubishi headed northbound fast in center turn lane and hit a older woman pedestrian. The vehicle fled and a witness tried to tail the vehicle but didn’t succeed.

Over half of all drivers on meds or dope , sober drivers are out numbered , pop that pain killer and get behind the wheel

You might want to look up the figures on which ‘drug’ cause the most deaths LR. Drink much?

Just give the drugalyser a chance, one swab and done, impaired driving is going to be a huge revenue for small towns , too many people been poppin pills and driving for years, gonna cost a person 10 grand to keep that up

I think people who cross broadway take take big risks for all sorts of reasons. I think drivers on broadway take big risks for all the jaywalkers I see every day. I hope the woman will be alright and the driver caught.
