Sunset at Table Bluff
Turn right on Table Bluff Road and slowly wind through lush farmland until the road ends at the South Jetty or stop at the Table Bluff County Park (basically, a couple of wide spots on the road) for dramatic views.
If you continue onto the South Spit, on one side are the waves of the Pacific Ocean and on the other are the calmer waters of the Humboldt Bay.
The cliffs of Table Bluff are favorite launching areas for hang gliders. If you are lucky, you might get to see some.
This weekend has been so lovely, surely some of you have sunset photos from the area to share in the comment section. We’d love to see them.

Nice photo. Is that near where the Lighthouse Christian Center used to be located in the 70s?
I’m unfamiliar with it so I don’t know.
It is.
Here’s some heavy surf from Table Bluff, about a month ago.
I love that shot. I’ll have to try a similar one the next time I’m there.
New Years at the Bluff
A great view to start off the year. I love that place!
Taken at mouth of the Mattole.
Gorgeous color and the dogs and the figure add so much.
Well, it was a bit after sunset, and it’s not from this week, but there *is* a red glow remaining from the sunset and it *was* from Table Bluff. This is looking South across the Eel River delta last October 2017.
Sweet!
got this a few years ago during christmas with my new digi camera
You were standing right where I was parked Saturday. That is a great view made even better by the hang glider!
Mouth of the Mad River

Took this last night in Hoopa as I was coming up off the bend & dip of Marshal Lane
