I wasn’t aware that the Israeli military needed any assistance in committing their numerous and brazenly heinous war crimes. I think the past week has proven the Israelis are fully capable of unjustified slaughter without American assistance (well, other than free American weapons, billions of dollars in “foreign aid” from the American taxpayers every year, etc.). Send the psycho gun nut to NRA (National Russian Association 🇷🇺) headquarters instead, where he belongs. Have him say hello to that other war criminal Oliver North, while he’s at it. THE NRA ARE IDIOTS!

How does it feel to have been part of the current abusive, self righteous angry mob seeking to bully everyone else that got us all Trump as President? What you hate about him is he is just as capable of uncivilized behavior as yourself. Heck he’s even better at it. And you will never forgive him for that. That he is so like yourself. He dared to flip you off when you had the delusion that you had the market cornered on that technique.

So keep on. You just remind people of why they voted for him

Really? Like no school shooting ever happened before he was elected? Twisting every story to fit your agenda is ugly and simultaneously boring. Trump is just the sort who actually do something about school shooting unlike all the political hacks. The time wasted bashing differing opinions is stalling anything useful and whatever else Trump is, he’s first and foremost practical rather than political.

Social Security Disability benefits RECIPIENTS, that is. Trump should apologize, for once in his shameless life. 🍊🚽Seriously.

Really, Republicans you didn’t hear about Trump’s insane decision giving severely mentally ill people the ability to legally purchase firearms, just because tiny-handed Trump hates Obama and loves 💕 the NRA? (I know it’s hard to keep track of all of Dipshit Donald’s insane decisions, which would be a full-time job for anyone… but that big league Trump blunder was widely discussed in the media after the gun massacre at Parkland in Florida, or don’t you remember?)

No. Probably Fox did but since the lack of facts is no hinderance to your ranting, the fact you didn’t read it should not slow you up.

Besides, I can’t think of a greater abuse of the diagnosis of mental illness than the government using it to deprive people of their civil liberties in the absence a legal determination of competence. It’s a scary precedent even with a competency determination. Obama’s tendency to ignore the Constitution in the pursuit of his own ideas would have resulted in the Supreme Court overturning the decision anyway. I doubt if there have been many Social Security Disability recipients involved in mass shootings. Especially when it lists eating disorders for example as a mental illnes. Seen any bulimics doing mass murder lately? Any Somatic symtoms murderers? How about any Agrophobics?

Yes. I would hope that have taught enough resilience that even when bullied- really bullied rather than self isolated- they know how to deal with it. These are not cases of retaliation for bullying. These are taking out personal frustrations on other people. It is never justified.

Bullying has existed from the time two children player together. What really has changed is that too many people have been so affirmed in their self centeredness that they think bullying or even being ignored is a reason to commit mass murder. They have been raised to think a hero is one who is not necessarily good or clever or kind or self sacrificing but simple one who can trash the most other people.

Being a self important know it all who feels free to disparage other people over differences is a basic requirement. Putting a gun, bomb, bottle of acid, cannister of gasoline, vehicle or knife in their hands leads to the expression of this arrogance. There will always be a gun, bomb, bottle of acid, cannister of gasoline, vehicle or knife available. So there is a better chance of reducing the harm by adjusting popular thinking to include some humility than trying to get rid of the tools used to express violent thinking.

101 mass shooting to date this year in the US, 18 of which were at a school. a mass shooting is defined by 4 or more victims, so this number in fact does not include what you claim. when people fight real data, it says they are the one with the problem. it appears you have a problem.

No, there haven’t been 18 school shootings in 2018. That number is flat wrong.

“…Everytown has long inflated its total by including incidents of gunfire that are not really school shootings. Take, for example, what it counted as the year’s first: On the afternoon of Jan. 3, a 31-year-old man who had parked outside a Michigan elementary school called police to say he was armed and suicidal. Several hours later, he killed himself. The school, however, had been closed for seven months. There were no teachers. There were no students.

Also listed on the organization’s site is an incident from Jan. 20, when at 1 a.m. a man was shot at a sorority event on the campus of Wake Forest University. A week later, as a basketball game was being played at a Michigan high school, someone fired several rounds from a gun in the parking lot. No one was injured, and it was past 8 p.m., well after classes had ended for the day, but Everytown still labeled it a school shooting.”

The Washington Post has this headline right now.
“Santa Fe school shooting is 2nd this week, 3rd this month and 16th this year.”
so it looks like there has been 16 this year. 18 or 16, what’s the difference. the rest of the world has had 18 in 20 years, we have 16 in 5 months.

Guns are tools. Deadly tools. We have a severe cultural problem being thrown directly into our faces yet we refuse to deal with it. We have allowed our American culture to embrace gun killings on television, action films and especially in video games that we allow our children to play endlessly. We allow guns to be regarded as casual identifiers of strength or masculinity and as solutions to disagreements. We push pharmaceutical mood-changers into our children as we abandon them to the suburban melting pot. Guns should be respected as the agents of death that they are. Tools. Deadly tools. No joke. Very serious. I support the NRA’s education programs and adults teaching young adults respectful gun use. But I abhor the NRA’s proliferation of gun ownership to people who should not have access. Psychologically or emotionally unbalanced people should not be armed unless they are pointed at an actual enemy.

I hope all the people that have been calling for the ban or “evil” guns like the AR15 take note, that incidents like this can happen easily enough without “assault” weapons. With a human population as large as we have there will always be those unfortunate individuals with malfunctions and glitches in their brains. I don’t really see that ever completely going away until the humans go extinct on this planet. It is really unfortunate that it might take an incident like this to happen for this kid to get the proper mental health help that he requires.

There is plenty of outrage. Unfortunately people like you so derail any discussion of it that nothing is ever accomplished. This will be my last response to you as I don’t usually engage trolls, but since you asked a direct question I will try and give you an honest answer. What good would faking outrage against the killer do exactly? The dead people aren’t coming back to life. I don’t know what Fox News reported because I don’t ever watch that programming. Nice try to pigeon hole me though. I don’t personally care if his parents were total hippies or staunch right wing conservatives. A 17 year old getting his hands on guns in the state of Texas is hardly anything to have a complete melt down over like you seem to be to push your political agenda. You don’t even have a clue about my political beliefs, but you seem to think you can label someone’s entire belief system on a single talking point. Some of us are free thinking individuals who do not need some political party to tell us how we should think on every specific topic. Maybe try getting out of mom’s basement and go breath some fresh air. Take in the beauty of nature and get some of this hatred out of your system. Not a single rant your post on here is going to change current the political environment that has you so off your rocker.

Disarming everyone of assault weapons, that is. Or are you in love 😍 with your machines of mass murder? (Better keep quiet about that, before your significant other starts getting jealous.)

What do you need an AR-15 for, really? FOR FUN? Find a new hobby already, dude.

SEND A MESSAGE TO THE EVIL NRA, ☠️ which is – this can happen to you too, if you give guns to your psycho killer son!

Are you unfamiliar with the word “hyperbole”? Look it up. LMFAO!! 😆🤣😂

If you must know, I am an opponent of the death penalty. Satisfied now?

P.S. – The news about the father is legit – go research it yourself, or are you afraid? Can’t handle the truth, Tom Cruise? Well, if you can’t handle the truth, there’s always FOX “News”! 📺 🦊

Yeah, Mike, conservatives never complain. Sure… Ever hear of that whiny conservative crybaby Donald Trump before? I assume you have, since you no doubt voted for him, right?

And what sane person would ever complain about endless school shootings and large numbers of dead children, cut down in a hail of bullets before their time? We should just get over it, right Mike? “Thoughts and prayers”, Mike? [edit]

You had a point, Mike? Other than demeaning those who disagree with you? And don’t you really mean Blue Tide, Mike? It’s on the way.

All you do is hate on poor people & carry water for the NRA (National Russian Association) 🇷🇺. Enjoy the Summer of Mueller, and Avenatti/Stormy, and The Apprentice sexual assault trial, etc. Good luck with that. You’re gonna need it.

Don’t worry. I’m sure it’s all just a witch hunt, fake news, and a vast left-wing conspiracy! You know the FBI and those other intelligence agencies are just big league left-wingers who are out to get Saint Trump, right? Yeah…NOT!

And so does the Satanic Trump Cult! 🔥🔥🐘🔥🔥

After all, according to Nostradamus, Donald Trump is the latest Anti-Christ. (Could he be LESS like Jesus?)

PGOTUS (Pussy Grabber Of The United States) is referred to by Nostradamus as “The False Trumpet concealing his madness” who starts WWIII in Asia.
Sound familiar, anyone? It should!

TV. I just got done attending a 3-day training on trauma-informed care. One of the major influences of children is TV and video games. It is proven over and over that until children reach about the age of 7 sometimes a little older discerning right from wrong is not in their brain waves they act more on uninhibited level. When you desensitize children to violence dragging guns around seeing these things on TV seeing these things on video games before they are emotionally and psychologically equipped they are desensitized to Violent actions. That is part of why hate groups and terrorist groups want to get the children early is because they know if they can assimilate them young it is hard to turn them around other ways. You want to make things better don’t let your kids play on the tablet all day. It is proven that for a child to learn they need play it takes about 15 minutes for the brain to engage in an activity and become learning. When you’re sitting on the couch staring at a screen with rapidly changing images every few seconds there is no time to assimilate there’s no 15 minutes there’s no integration with the action. We are doing it to ourselves by plugging our children in. Unplug them and Society still might stand a chance.

Yee is not the only evil one going down for crimes against the citizens, but he’s a minor example of what citizens truly face. https://americanmilitarynews.com/2018/05/ex-senator-who-called-for-gun-control-gets-5-years-in-prison-for-weapons-trafficking/

Officer Dallas is an excellent example of good guys with guns who protect and defend our loved ones. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2018/05/16/dixon-illinois-school-resource-officer-thwarts-mass-shooting/615519002/

It’s the heart that matters. Paid to play people like Yee would pass a mental health check. Freaky.

This is why Governments on all levels, whether HOA, Schools, county, city, state or Fed, are forbidden by the constitution from infringing on the rights of the individuals. The 9th and 10th amendments are there for solid reason, not just for bedtime stories.

Perfectly true except that CHUMP had some sense of humor about himself where this one apparently does not believe in it. But I would miss her as I do CHUMP because of the recreational sport of troll baiting. If a poster is not so very obviously a troll, decency requires being more circumspect. With them, being they are pretty oblivious, one can be pretty pointed. Not that is so good for the soul either.

That kid could have killed just as many people with the car he drove to school, or a gallon of gasoline and a bic lighter. Disarming law abiding citizens only helps the criminals.

One of the best posts on this topic. Thanks for using logic rather than out of control emotion. It is just not humanly possibly to ensure safety for everyone on this planet. Taking away guns is hardly the answer when there are thousands of ways to bring violences against others.

If one could only sift out the reliably responsible. But is there no place where the people who mistakenly believe that they can eliminate guns and it will cure a social problem can live with those who mistakenly believe that guns cure a social problem? That dirtiest of words in the world of internet commenting- compromise?

As the number of mass shootings, especially in schools, continues to rise, a confused and divided nation demands action but fails to understand the real origin of what has become an epidemic. While some are beginning to search for what causes the rage which fuels these attacks, the majority blindly continue to blame at least one of the two most controversial entitlements of a free society – the freedom to bear arms and the freedom of speech.

By far, the greatest demand is for more restrictive gun control, but will stricter gun regulations solve the problem? The Santa Fe shooter had at least 4 pipe bombs and a Molotov Cocktail in his possession, probably constructed before he gained possession of his father’s guns. While these were not activated, the fact that he had them should serve as a warning. Despite the off-putting arrogance of some Second Amendment supporters, it is impossible to imagine how more gun regulations could stop bombs – but easy to see where the lack of firearms might lead to their use. Blocking one method of delivery won’t stop the hate. Those who are determined will find another way.

The second greatest recipient of blame Is the Media. For good or ill, the Media reports what you feed it. It is suggested that we no longer focus on the shooters, depriving them of any attention they might seek. Report the crime but don’t focus on the criminal. How can that be possible? Do you really think you can report acts of violence without discussing the violator? Do you really believe If you Ignore them, they will go away? The press is the voice of the people in a free society. This First Amendment right to report the truth without fear of retaliation, censorship, or sanction is vital to our continued freedom. Any action that restricts our freedom of speech or seeks to control it will not stop the hate. It will, however, leave us vulnerable to other assaults on our civil rights.

Over the last 50 years, as we have sought to extent those civil rights to all Americans, corrupt factions in our society have exploited anyone who buys into their rhetoric, rhetoric that encourages violence in those who fear “equality for all” if that equality includes people of color or ethnic disparity, people with foreign religious beliefs or customs, people claiming gender or sexual diversity. Those who are different have become the enemy. Equality for all, a concept originally included in the Pledge of Allegiance, is a fearful prospect when you have been taught that any divergence from traditional standards is evil. We as a nation have been groomed by these abusers to be discriminatory. It’s not a trait to be proud of.

Restricting the freedoms of law-abiding citizens is not the answer and in fact, only supports the agenda of those who already exploit us. We should look, instead, to the perpetrators and what they are trying to tell us. The Santa Fe shooter said, “I tried not to shoot anyone who was nice to me. I wanted my story to be told.”

Harassment based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender or disability exists everywhere there is prejudice but the worst examples are in our schools. According to statistics from anti-bullying organizations, 20% of all children have been bullied and will be affected to some degree for the rest of their lives. At least 50% percent of those contemplate either suicide or retaliation. Many of them have admitted bringing weapons to school at least once. And, while only 8% of all bullied students become aggressively angry, at least 70% of all school shooters can be included in that category. Imagine: If you stop the bullying, you can potentially reduce the number of school shootings by 70%.

Stop the hate and you will stop the killing. Explain to our so-called leaders in church and state that you can’t preach hate and expect love. Stop giving anyone who is different a derogatory label. Love or hate – we must decide which defines us and own it as a nation. If you are still hesitant to do that, answer one last question: How many mass murders have been committed with love?

Stop the hate, stop the killing.
