Press release from the Boys and Girls Club:

Jonathan Flyer presented Sacha Marini, Director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods Teen Court program, with a $5,000 check donation at their court session on Thursday, May 17th. Year after year, Jonathan and Erin Flyer have consistently shown tremendous support of the Teen Court program through generous underwriting of their Second Chances Art Show & Raffle fundraiser.

The Teen Court program honored the Flyers by giving them a redwood tree sapling. Ms. Marini said, “Redwoods represent the strength and backbone of our community, much in the same way that individual donors provide stalwart support to our myriad of local non-profits. We are blessed to have such support.”

This year’s Second Chances art show is on display at the Ink People in Eureka until the end of May. The show features teen artists addressing the topics of personal growth, transformation, and the issues they are facing.

Youth Courts are an alternative approach to the traditional juvenile justice system. These courts are youth-focused and youth-driven and designed to empower youth, assist them to think, make choices, and develop connections with adults.
